Please know that seeing people hanging around in groups is a common thing in Panama. Panama is a very family oriented culture. Also the area where the officer stopped you is not necessarily a dangerous area, but a tourist might feel intimidated and get the wrong idea of our country. The officers are always looking out for your safety.

A word of advise if you ever return to Panama use Uber, cheap and reliable.Taxis drivers are a gamble, they almost always overcharge tourist. Good video.
