The video text refers to some of the dangers of the Darien (drug runners, bandits, etc.). I presume however that you try to avoid those area by not trying to cross into Colombia through the jungle or take a trail towards the border.

Meh…the jungles of Vietnam look way worse than this. The happy music and camping in this video make it look like a casual hike. I’m disappointed because I heard that even the plants want to kill people in the Darien, but these civilians seemed to get by just fine.

Hi....inside the jungles the robbery are waiting for the foreign people they will also take any girl that they want and rape it they will take everything from phone to money.So thats why need to hire a local to be with them even it charge expensive since the local know which way to go.

Is it as dangerous for a group of scientists/explorers to traverse this area as it is for migrants? Everything you hear about this area says that it is dangerous for anyone who goes into this area as far as getting robbed and killed.
