I think that the most in USA were relying on the 5 -1 victory in the catar race played in Orlando,and thought that that was the real distance between Panamá and the USA, but you have to think about the context of that game. Christiansen at that time was the first time to play in Concacaf, and panameños were very green and immature. That immaturity make them think that the USA game has to be won, but did noth thought that it only need a draw that could force USA to go full force against costa rica. By playing not so open then Panamá could get the result and later win against Canada and beat them as it happens. Now Christiansen and the panameños are more experienced and wiser than before, and this time it was the USA the one pressured to win and the Panamá took advance of that situation but the red card on weah improved much better the chances of Panamá...

If this red card was an isolated incident then it’s the players fault but we’ve seen this happen with the US multiple times in the past couple years (Dest v Trinidad and Tobago, Dest v Mexico, and now Weah v Panama) it just seems like theres a huge lack of discipline in these players and a big portion of that blame is on Greg.
