Ecuadorian here. A lot of our players are pecho frío and the coach sucks the only Silver lining was the Alan Minda goal. That coach was hired because of the simbiotic relationship between the federation and Independiente del Valle. They also did Alfaro dirty. I would have loved Becaccece or Gareca. Im still pissed that Peru has Fosati cause he would have been great too.

Difference for me personally is I had high hopes for Ecuador. And still do, but I’m concerned. Meanwhile I’ve known for some time that Mexico is finished. I figured we’d finish 3rd, and it looks like we are headed there. Mexico can be finished, and Ecuador can be unimpressive, simultaneously.

Ecuador showed against Argentina they have the potential to be a really good team and qualification for the world cup looks to be odds on. Top six teams qualify and both Ecuador and Venezuela are currently on course with Brazil scraping through in 6th place if things stay the way they are.

The issue with Ecuador is Alfaro created a TEAM, FSB has failed to do this, and he seems incapable of bettering this. Ecuador is currently a collective of individual talents and no leaders. I’m Ecuadorian but in one hand I hope they loose, we need FSB OUT, getting any further could mask the error of appointing such a limited coach. Really hope I’m wrong but good luck to both!

Jaime Lozano came last summer. Mexico have been so mid and underwhelming they're hard to watch. Nothing has changed and that is understandable if you think about it. Biggest take away we lost the whole first half just by the line up before the game even started! It’s so fucking simple 99% of Mexico fan know you don’t start antuna or charly! Erik Sanchez for charly and either Vega or piojo for antuna. The second half the players just missed shots they shouldn’t have but also they were playing best towards the end which makes me think would that someone in that second half team scored if they had extra 45 min worth of game play

I think its a combination of the media and the playerbase. Media and fans hype everyone who is a one season wonder and then that player comes and eventually just disappears. Even today, i guarantee you, you ask 2 Mexican fans who they think is the ideal starting 11 is and they’ll have 5-6 different players from each other in their lineups. Ive seen it countless times over the last few years. No one can keep a starting a eleven cuz Mexico doesnt have the playerpool like it used to. Mexico needs a revamp. And ill say it again as i said it in the past. Mexico never deserved to make the 2022 world cup. Them qualifying hurt the national team more heading into 2026.
