cool video :) Im doing the same thing, but I have at the moment a few nv fs 90 svhs players im messing about with, I bought 5 thats in the collection and made 2 work ok, its just the svhs I cant get working due to a small board that controls the video of svhs outout, but I got 2 working, I re capped the power supplies as they suffer from this cleaned the heads and serviced and oiled/lithium greased anything that moved :) . I also use the same solder iron you have, great little iron. Also use the solder iron sucker with the pump they are well handy to have.

I'm glad there are more people like me out there who like a challenge! It's fun and makes an interesting hobby as you couldn't of messed around with the stuff when it was brand new! Good call preserving the SVHS players as their time will come again for people wanting to digitise their old videos. I have subscribed to you so I will watch your arcade and retro computer videos.
