The best Prosumer camera of the 2000's. Mine needs a circuit board. What do you think it will cost to repair. It might not be worth it but I will consider. There are a lot of HD cameras out there for about $200 but with very limited options and ghetto to be honest....

You probably just needed to tinker with the settings. The DVX has way better image control than Canon. I actually bought the Canon XH A1S from my friend for an awesome price and just recently sold it because I could not get the control that I had with the DVX.

Hi Nick! I can help answer u though not directed to me. I won´t know if the software u use for editing. If u use vegas pro, u simply remove the horizontal bars by right clicking on the video clips after importing them on the timeline, click property and then unclick "maintain aspect ratio". U also do so by right clicking on the clips on the timeline and then click on "switch" --- unlick maintain aspect ratio. Show less

Yes, just look fkr a good dvx100 skate video and you see that it looks pretty much like a vx i would say

I try to insert a tape, and when the big “outer” door opens, the small “inner door” that holds the tape WON’T open! This happens either with the power on or off with the battery fully charged. Anybody know how to troubleshoot this issue?

You just need a firewire port on your pc I would recommend using a cheap camcorder to capture the footage if your pc doesnt have a firewire port get a pci-e firewire card

@@exavac I use a FireWire card with my Windows 10 PC and I have no issues. I think it depends on the chip on the card, some apparently do cause issues. I think my card has a VIA chip on it, but I don't remember the brand/model.

Years ago I sold my Canon XL1 3ccd for my DVX100 3ccd, and I must say that the DVX100 is a little more compact, but the Canon produced WAAAAAY better qualtiy images... WAAAAY better, lol. I wish I had kept the Canon.

@@martinlutherkingjr.5582 I look back at the footage I shot years ago with the XL1 and DVX and the footage from the XL1 just looks so much more crystal clear compared to the DVX, and as for 24p I can take it or leave it. I shoot mostly moving action targets in 30 or 60 so I don’t really care about 24p really.
