i definitely need to use this for some clean social media videos and youtube shorts since i have it sitting there not being used.

Hey hey! Thanks for the anamorphic insight

You were asking about it in the Sirui video right? It was interesting to test. My laptop doesn't agree so much though 😅

Comment here if it works and if you'll be using it 👍🏻

Yes it works really well.......but at 4:3 it looks odd with black bars...and I use Vegas and the render sizes are 16:9.....so no I won't be using it....
@RogerinFinland4 жыл бұрын
I agree mostly. For me, the only useful cases I can think of are: a) 2x anamorphic (which would end up giving you a 2.35:1 aspect ratio) or b) if you are planning to punch in, reframe and maybe even do fake tracking (by moving the frame) while in 16:9. But, I don't have any 2x anamorphic lens, and I don't need to reframe so much that it would bring benefits.

It's the best camera ever.
@RogerinFinland3 жыл бұрын
That's a strong statement 😊 I do like it very much, and it's better than others at some things and worse at some others. If you are happy with the camera you have, that's the most important thing 👍🏻👍🏻

Firmware version 2.0: 30fps ( 29,97), .mp4 only but good news: you can select V-Log L if you have the update
@RogerinFinland3 жыл бұрын
It's still a paid upgrade though. Since the GH5 I've had mixed feelings towards Panasonic because of it. Most other brands just give you their log profiles at these price brackets.

@@RogerinFinland Yes it's true. I just wanted to share that if you have the update, it's available in that mode.

I recently purchased the G9 and love it. I I will be using it mostly for weddings and corporate videos, so thank you so much for these helpful videos. I have two questions I think you may very well know. Since I am new to this camera I am not sure how much battery power I will need for 7 hrs+ of shooting video all day. I bought an adaptor so that I can use a power bank, but not sure how many I would need for a long days shoot? Not sure if two power banks and two batteries(standard G9) would suffice? Any suggestions about which bank may last me the longest? Also, want to shoot the videos in 60fps 4K, and not sure how many cards you would need? I did hear once that they do not recommend using any card over 32GB for video as "issues" seem to happen. Not so sure of that. Any advice will be greatly appreciated and I thank you so much for all you do.

Thanks for the kind comments! First the memory cards. I use 64Gb and 128Gb from ProGrade and SanDisk and no issues (so far 😅). 4k 60p is 150Mbps, which means that 64Gb ~ 1h ((64*1024)/(150/8))/60~58mins. Keep in mind the recording limits: 30mins in general and 10mins for 4k 60p. About the batteries, they last pretty long but I haven't quite tested the extremes. My guess (and don't quote me one that) is that 1 battery would last maybe 2h? And they are about 1800-2000 mAh and 7.2V (a total of ~14W), so you can check the specs of your powerbank and kind of guess the expectations. Hopefully this answers a bit your questions 😊 And if you have ideas for G9 videos, I'd be good to make some new ones 👍🏻👌🏻

Hello, thanx for these videos about G9 . I tryed the 6k mode : but on my pc and i cant even read or edit (Davinci) the files without lag (it is playable on my G9), its weird because i can read 8k videos on youtube (3900x 24 threads/64gb Vega64 )

One thing is playing KZbin videos, and another one having your NLE dealing with h265 😊 I do have troubles also, and I certainly have a less powerful machine than you.
@HLG754 жыл бұрын
@@RogerinFinland I see, maybe its because of my GPU that is getting older . I saw that when the file was converted in an other h265 file with Handbrake it was perfect . An other question do you think that using 6k mode with the highlight curves at -5 and the shadow curve at +5 ( With Idynamic at high ) to have better lowlight quality and more dynimac range is a good idea ? This video was about curves and idynamic : kzbin.info/www/bejne/sKnWgHSdfLtgd9U

if you have the free version of davinci you can edit h265 only h264. also windows often has difficulties is h265

Isn't it just pictures in 6k
@RogerinFinland3 жыл бұрын
Yes and no. That's the main purpose of the mode, BUT since it is possible to in-camera store the file as a video file, it is in practice (with a lot of limitations) a 6K video mode as well.
