I have this camcorder (HC-V750). does your LCD screen on your camera have a white glare/light in the top left corner while powering off? Like it only shows up when the screen is powering off / doesn't show really while the Screen is on tho. Thanks please help me. It's really bothering me:(

Here's how I use link to cell. Kids are in band and we have lots of concerts. Set the camera up on a tripod at the back of a room. Link to cell. You can now go sit with your family. You can turn off your phone during the performance it will continue to record. When the song or performance is over, just turn your phone back on and it will reconnect in a few seconds. Also useful is that it turns off the screen on the camera and you can close it as well. These features together make for a good low power remote control setup. Thanks for the review. I use the V520 and want to upgrade to something with better low light. I really enjoy the panasonic cameras. Thanks again!

Hi Lon, Continuing from my last post, after I have this v750 for a few months, I'm really happy with this vidcam. And btw, I can operate the cam with the usb power bank without the battery attached to the cam and found no problem at all. But please remember if somebody want to do this, do it with your own risk :).

Took me a day and a call to Panasonic Support to get the Lumix Club working. Support said they were having server issues, but while I was on the phone, it worked and I was able to connect and use Ustream. Worked well. Good news is that the Lumix Club registration and setup are a one-time thing so once it works, it's done.

***** When the camera connects to the wifi, it says it's ready to stream at 1080. If you'd like to see how it streamed, I use it for our church. Check our most recent streams at www.ustream.tv/channel/caflive Though it's not a nature video, it may help to see how it did.

I bought a Sony HDRCX330 to use for live streaming (webcam) via a capture card in my PC but when I connect the camcorder to the PC or a TV via hdmi, the image quality is not meeting my expectations. I did find that using a better quality hdmi cable helps but its still not quite where I want it to be. I can still return the camcorder but I was curious about this Panasonic HC-V750k. How clear is the image when u connect it to a TV via hdmi? FYI, I am not recording at all I just need the best / clearest picture I can get when a camcorder is connected to my TV or PC via hdmi. I also want to stay at about the $500 or less price range. I dont want to use a webcam because I need good zoom image as well because I will be showing detail of my sculpture work. If the Panasonic HC-V750k has good clarity then this cam might be what I need. Thank you for any feedback u can provide.

***** thank you so much for the response. I agree lighting makes a big difference as it is something I learned about in college. I have plenty of light but I still think the image quality via out to a TV or PC capture card could be better. I'm gonna try to grab a Panasonic before my return option runs out on the one i bought and compare. thx again.

We want to stream a volleybal match on Ustream. I made the connection with lumix etc. But unfortunately the stream isn't that stable.. in our gym we have 6 Mbit/sec upload speed.. That should be enough right? is it possible to change the quality? I think every 20 seconds the screen turns black. It really sucks because we bought this camera especially for the stream option. Does anyone know why we can't broadcast a stable stream..?

Thanks for the complete review and I think you really talked me out of buying this camera if the gyro noise is as bad as you say. Nice review. very informative ! Got a question: Would the camera keep recording if I close the monitor? Any comments would be appreciated! Cheers, Elia

Hey Elia! I recently just purchased the Panasonic W850 camera. It's pretty much the same as this camera only it has the dual camera. To answer your question, yes you can! I done two tests there. First one being that you can close the door and it will still record and when you open the door back up, it's still on. The second test being that I recorded it with the door closed, pressed the record button to stop closing and it then stop recording, and shut down the camera too! Hope this helps out everyone online! :) Would really love for you all to check out my gaming channel as I do a lot of unboxings and that. My recent unboxing video I used two Panasonic video cameras, W850 and the V210 which is 10mp, both great cameras!!

Its slow on the phone because you need a high end phone with a strong cpu. I have the hc-v550 and it plays fine on my old tablet (from 2013) via wifi. Edit: I personly like the 550 or 570 more then this one because of its 50x zoom and 90x i zoom. The picture is also very very smooth.

The Canon's now have a very small sensor, unless you get their top of the line G20 or G30. A few years ago the HF M41 and the like had a good sensor size and used the "CMOS Pro". I have that camera. The only problem is that it shoots in some weird interlace mode that internet software and editors don't get so it looks messed up. I figure out how to fix it sometimes maybe, but forget and still not sure if it was truly right. The panasonic Vv750 should be good, but I've heard bad stuff about its microphone. The panasonic shoots real progressive and mp4 so it should be really easy to save and share.

Hello.. I enjoyed your review... I agree about the wifi on camera's, being somewhat gimmicky... I use a everio gz ex210 mounted to my tripod to record my kids football ,basketball, track, lacrosse etc..... All fast moving events.. the quality on the everio is pretty good but the stabilizer could be better and the thing that really gets me is NO REMOTE... using a phone or tablet for a remote through direct monitoring or wifi isn't the answer. I thought I heard you mention a remote option for this camera.. If this one doesn't have that lanc port or another way to use a remote what camera would you recommend that can use a remote control and has good stabilization for fast moving events....

***** What mega pixel is the still camera ?. Also if you record a video - say for example a family holiday - will the video be all one continuous file of when I have recorded and stopped? - Or will be it be in different video files from when I have recorded and then pressed stop?. I would like it to be all on one continuous video file, a bit like how it was on the old Hi8 Camcorders with the tapes.

I have the same V770 camcorder and looks like during recording HDMI port shuts off (leaving active only LCD screen).. Hi, thanks for the review. I would just like to say that although, as you say, it's not perfect and there is a little delay, I find the wifi remote control extremely useful. I video a music jam session in a busy pub and have to put a tripod on top of the table in order to be above people's heads. The only way i can do this is by using the remote control facility as the camera itself is up out of reach. I also have a 520 camera and find that the controls are slightly smoother on that one, but the 750 is still a great camera. One thing i can't get to grips with is how to get the best sound. Currently i am using music setting, 5.1 surround sound and automatic mic level but even noisy bands are coming out quite quiet. Can you offer any suggestion as to what i should be doing? I'm not a technical expert and can't take the sound of the mixing desk so have to rely on the sound from the internal mic.

I'm very interested in the pana v750, the image seems very nice and clear, but im wondering if the extra U$269 on the pana its worth all that. What do you think? is the image on the Pana waaaaaay better than the vixia R500? do you think is worth it? Thanks in advance! great channel! PS: is the photos good on pana v750? can u upload one? :p

whats is the difference between the 750 and the 850 other than the extra camera on the 850?

I just bought the 750 and the sales guy tried to push the 850 on me and I simply could not think of any scenario where I would need that second lens. That said, I'm sure there's a practical reason somewhere it can be used.

I just got the w850, as it was actually £30 cheaper than the v750!! The w850 also has an IR night mode which the v750 does not have. Both models have the low light and 1 lx night mode (colour) but only the w850 has the proper IR night mode as well.

Hi... Thank you for the review. I've ordered v750 @ ebay today. I've read somewhere in the internet that this v750 can be directly operated (not for charging the camcorder battery) with USB power bank with the output 5v - 1A (the one we use to charge cellphone's battery), so we don't need to buy another panasonic battery. Is it true ? Did you know and have tried about this ? btw, I've used USB power bank to operate my JVC Everio GZ-E10 (2012 model) ... and it works without problem. Thank you in advanced.

***** Hi, Lon.... Thanks for your info. I'm sorry for my English... if you mean "to draw off the battery" is "not to attach the battery to the camcorder" ... so, yes when I did this on my JVC, I operate it without camcorder's battery attached while the power comes directly from the USB power bank. I hope this "not arrived yet" V750 can do the same :). btw, is there a big difference quality of recording in 50 Mbps MP4 vs 28 Mbps AVCHD ? From the downloaded manual, it say : "You can record motion pictures in 1080/60p (1920k1080/60 progressive), the best AVCHD picture quality for this unit". What format do you prefer for recording ? Thank you once again for your reply.

***** I heard, the AVCHD use much better compression then the plain MP4. So that means on same bit rate the AVCHD has much better image quality. Maybe about 50Mbps MP4 can be equivalent with 28Mbps AVCHD.

Lon, thanks for this great review! Wonder if you have advice on an issue I ran into with this camera. In my first shoot, the video image showed a range of different colors/tones in a studio setup with lighting and a colored back drop. I assume it's due to the "intelligent auto" recording settings. Would you recommend manual settings if you don't shoot a scene with lots of movement?

I own this camera. Stabilizing and image-quality are quit good for this price-class camera. Especially in darker circumstances. I bought it mainly because it has a mic in. The mechanical dial en press button to prevent one has to use the small touch screen is located too close to the monitor and not always responding fast enough. The zoom button is very hard to use. It goes too quickly to faster zoom. So especially the much needed very slow zoom is hard. I am planning to make some kind of mechanical limiter to avoid zooming other then the slowest speed. Lot of functions can be set manual which is a must with serious recording. The little screen is however a bit small for manual focus check even though the camera has a help-tool in it. It does provide a clean hdmi out and in contrary of what Panasonic told me it does record and give a hdmi (clean) out at the same time. The build in mic is eye browse raising good. way better then I expected. But I always use external microphones anyway as I am a sound-technician with equipment and no cam-mic can come close to any professional microphone :) I added a link to a one-camera recording of a play I recorded recently. No image handling in post. Most-times manual focus, manual iris and shutter, manual audio-levels but the sound comes wireless through an sennheiser in-ear set from the mixer (including sound-compressors) into the mic-in. Getting stage-sound without people wearing mics is very hard in either case. Watch the mic set you can see sometimes in the front. kzbin.info/www/bejne/eJ-apYR9fM5shrc
