Great review. And thanks for pointing out the difference between this camera and the UX 180 - I was puzzled at what the differences were as they look pretty much alike. I'll now go for this camera as I don't need SDI output or timecode.

Thanks for the review, been watching quite a few good ones. But I'm interested in the negative ones at this point and the problem stated is that it's not a true Run & Gun kit because the settings have to be reset? not sure exactly what that refers to.any ideas? seems to me if you shoot in manual mode your always gonna adjust your settings.

As with its predecessor the external mounting holder microphone is in the wrong place it seems. I use a sennheiser ME 66 and it is seen on screen at wide angle and that is without the dead cat on. Other then that if it actually records better in low light then it's a no brainer for me.

Nice review. Does the 24mm FoV available in 4K recording? Panasonic cameras are known and notorious to crop a hell lot when recording 4K. Can you verify if this camera can shoot 4K with 24mm wide angle? Thank you so much.

I just bought this camera. Tested in all modes. Plays hard through 4K tv and I can’t see any difference in the footage shot at UHD and that in the HD modes. Any ideas why?

Thank you Sir for the review. I have this camera and I think this is a good piece of hardware but with not that good auto focus as you pointed in the video. It depends for which purposes it is used. Anyway I am with Panasonic for years and still going to use their cameras.

Hi, just found this great review as I'm looking at possibly buying a 'proper' video camera after using DSLR's for filming video. My newbie question is this: is it possible to achieve the 180º degree rule with video cameras (including this one) to get a more natural, cinematic motion blur? If so, I'm in!

Hey, great review. I have a question. I've been pondering the Ursa mini 4.6K but decided it's just a bit out of my price range. I currently have the old Panasonic HMC150. 1) Is this comparable at all to the Ursa and 2) Should I expect a substantial improvement to my HMC? I think that's a yes on question 2. It does use standard SD cards right? Thanks ahead. Eric, Kirk Productions

Thanks for the review, much appreciated - noticed some wobble in some of the shots - is that rolling shutter issues or something else? Also is the lens parfocal in your experience? Thanks again!
@HD-Warrior8 жыл бұрын
Not too sure about the wobble but the lens is par focal, very few dedicated video lenses are not par focal.

Hi Philip, hope you are doing well with our ongoing world crisis. I came across this video as I was doing some research on the new Panasonic HC-X1500/2000 cameras. I have been in photography for a number of years and picked up a Nikon Z6 to venture into the video world, to share videos as well as photos of my trips. I think the Z6 is a great camera and does some great video as well but as we know the autofocus isn't the best of the bunch. How would you rate the HC-X1 against the newer x1500/2000 series, in terms of picture quality, stability when hand held, zoom performance and overall build quality and functions.

bonjour could you compare please PANASONIC DVX200 with the new panasonic UX 90 , UX 180 and HCX1… DVX200 has 4/3 sensor but do not have HDR recording mode and the others panasonic have 1inch sensor but maybe with HDR the quality of pictures are nearly the same …..and even maybe in low light (concert , street , sunset…)…thank you very much… Tobias from caribbean (do you think with a firmware DVX200 could do HDR too?)

Thanks for the review, great stuff (albeit a bit jaunty music in places!). It looks a decent video camera mostly; a bit disappointed that the aperture starts at f2.8 (my Canon Legria hf G30 has f1.8 at widest setting), but of course a smaller sensor. I already have the Panasonic G80 with lots of decent MFT lenses but in some ways prefer the 'camcorder' format for shooting video due to better ergonomics plus a few more advantages too. Keep up the good work :-)

I've had a camera with SD out for years and to be honest, I've always preferred to just remove the card when downloading so not sure that's a big deal. Just my thoughts.
@shem448 жыл бұрын
Eric Kirk it depends on your usage. For folks doing live event having sdi which can run for 300 feets is a big deal.

Kenny Shem You are right, I was just thinking of like output for downloading. Never used in the manner you mention.

If you shoot ENG, you'd be wanting to hook up SDI to live equipment. Fortunately, most newer bonded cellular live gear include HDMI as well as SDI.
