@shrimpfarmer Not an easy workflow, ClipWrap is pretty good. There is also Aunsoft MTS Convertor which I have not yet tried, not sure it handles the 50p files.

Really interesting to see the similarities and changes between this and the SD909. It is great that they moved the SD card slot so that you do not have to open the screen in order to remove it. Looking forward to some test footage!

I gotta say Dave,Being that i to have had a panasonic camcorder in the past and for what it doe's it's going to be a very hard choice between this and the sony. Going to reserve my judgment until i see more video clip's. From first impressions though,very nice looking camcorder.

Wow. I guess you do know me, this camera looks fantastic. :) I just wanted to ask, your videos tend to have this pixelated look to them in many of your recent videos. It happens in this video aswell at 5:54. Is it a rendering problem or is it a problem with your camcorder? Keep up the awesome work.

Hi thanks to your video I have just bought the same camera. Have you found a suitable workflow to make use of 1080p 50 within Final Cut Pro X. I realise it does not support it natively however I see a number of conversion programs available on the web but wondered if you would share your process, assuming that is your shooting using the 1080p 50 Pal. Thanks for the review, you tipped me over the edge and I am very pleased with the results !

+HitManHey Yea I mean I really like it so far. The image quality is great and it has enough manual controls to allow some creative flexibility. I do have a few issues with it though. Battery life is not great (will need something like a Wasabi VBN260 x 2 battery & charger combo), LCD screen should have a latch to keep it swinging open accidentally, files might be a pain to work with in the .mts format with 5.1 Dolby audio in Premiere Pro (need conversion), the zoom rocker switch isn't very precise although you can use the focus ring (which is very nice in contrast). Now I'm being pretty harsh and most of these issue are about the functionality not the end product. Although isn't your camera very similar to this one already? I thought I read about your model in comparisons to previous versions and everyone says how not much has changed. It's probably just like yours with marginally better options and maybe picture quality. As a camcorder it's pretty great, would be nice if it had an option for 24fps recording. But I'm not sure if it's much different from what you have already to be honest. If your looking for more control and creative options, I'd recommend looking into the Panasonic GH3 or GH4. It's a totally different system with lenses but you can really create amazing videos.
