Love my FZ1000. That's the camera that solved my problems with shooting large groups of kids when my kid was younger and doing a lot of group activities.

Welcome back and thanks Graham. Your website got me started on the FZ200 and now I have the FZ82, FZ300, FZ10002 and a couple of G80s! I have played around with the Sony RX10, the Nikon P610 and Olympus E-M10 and E-M10 but I have sold them all to stick with Lumix. That way I can switch between the cameras without having to think to much.

Yes the well thought out menu structure is a blessing compared to the Sony way of thinking and the RX10 has a few irritations that means it doesn't go out that much. Like your work on FB.

Nice! I got mine two weeks ago. Nobody bid on it in an auction. I found the "Make an offer" underneath the ended auction. So I've sent a 70Eur offer. And to my surprise the guy said yes. It has not so many exposures and is in perfect, new like nick. The mode dial was all over the place, but after turning it for maybe 2 minutes the corroded contacts cleaned and now it works like a charm! Love this camera so much!

Very nice! Mode dial and back control wheel are both candidates for the "spin clean" if they become noisy.

If it isn't broke then an upgrade might not be necessary as image quality hasn't changed that much - unless you go for a larger sensor based camera.

After 8 happy years with this excellent camera, the on/off lever recently broke off from the main circular control, sadly making it un-usable. And with just days away from my holiday travels I quickly ordered that same FZ200 model on Amazon...as I didn't want to take the time to get to know another model. So I was thrilled to receive this model again just in time for my holiday, knowing the camera so well.

Hi Graham and it's great to see you back making more videos on the FZ200. I've had mine since they first came out and like others, I purchased it because of your tutorials and have been a loyal fan of yours since then. I had the FZ18 first and still have it. I've learned all I know about the FZ200 from you. Thank you. I contacted you a few months ago about an issue I'm having with the camera in the Manual mode. The "Live View" function stopped working when the shutter button is pressed halfway. I haven't done a reset yet but I am going to try that unless you or someone else has any other ideas. I'll let you know if that fixes it. On another note, I am 70 years old so I feel we have our age in common and I am envious of your new car. Sweet ride. 😊

Have you got Constant preview set ON in the setup menu - turn that OFF is so.

Hi Graham, great to see you back making videos. I bought an original FZ200 in 2013, it has been a great camera for me. However, The camera now is showing its age because it shuts off and on automatically when I am ready to shoot a picture, or led does not light up, delays turning on and off. I really do not want to buy a new camera and prefer to fix these issues. It seems the electronic control features are misfiring. Do you know if anyone else has had any issues with the operation of the camera I have noted? Is it worth fixing?

I don't completely agree I think the picture quality in general is showing it's age, similar sized sensors in newer camera's really show the improvement in (software?) Technology in last ten years. I have the fz200, but recently bought the Nikon p1000 (just for the fun of it) and even that has better over all picture quality. A bit sharper a bit less noise in comparable circumstances. FZ200 is still nice and if you can pick it up as a bargain somewhere don't hesitate, but full price new? There are better quality camera for the same price out there.

@@erikdebeus2897 I don't doubt what you're saying for the subjects you are shooting. But for macro ("up close" really) shots and the butterflies I shoot with the built-in flash, I have yet to see an improvement in the bridge camera market. Even 1" sensor cameras can't compete. I bought the FZ300 when my FZ200 was stolen and never noticed an improvement. It's now my backup to my Canon R5. I've recommend Nikon's bridge cameras to anyone interested in shooting birds, I am not impressed with the FZ series once you're more than 10 feet away from a subject.

Thank you Graham for reminding me the times I had used this camera. By the way, below the focus lever there is a knob which provided me with the exact focus spot when chimping. Strange , this knob was missing in my next FZ camera i.e. FZ1000 (one inch sensor much better than FZ200). FZ200 has a very small, noisy sensor, yet it can be used for close-up photography with big depth of field due to the ratio of the sensor size to aperture of 2.8. Generally I used the apertures from 4.0 to 5.6 if I can recall correctly. I wish you, Graham, good health. Regards, Milan from Slovakia

Absolutely correct. The push to AF in manual mode is another feature that was lost in subsequent cameras - touch screens took over.

Fun fact the sensor in the Fz200 is the same size as a smartphone sensor which is why phones take bad photos. The largest sensor ever in a phone was a 1 inch sensor but it cooked tiself so they stopped using them. I have a full frame camera right now.

@@pilsplease7561 You are right. I can use DxO Photolab for noise reduction for one inch sensor in FZ1000. Yet I have bought APSC Fuji XT-200 with the kit lens for a very good price. That's a compromise (not going full frame). I have to returned to taking shots and use Fuji camera. Unless I use that Fuji frequently I will not buy any next camera...

@@pilsplease7561 A lot of people praise the colour science of Fujifilm cameras and a large number of them use Fuji presets for SIC images and don't even shoot RAW. For general photography APSC format may be sufficient. For rather large prints or portrait photography where full frame format due to its depth of field is a boon, one should definitely use a full frame camera. With your argument, everybody should go to medium format which gathers more light than a "poor" full frame. Most of photos displayed on the web or social media platforms have never been printed. Smaller formats are sufficient then except for the need of a full frame sensor which offers shallow depth of field and a nice bokeh with an appropriate lens. I have to admit that for an amateur like me the prices of full frame cameras plus several lenses are prohibitive for me. Have a nice light. Milan

Hi Graham, hope you're well I come across your vids on your tube whilst trying to decide on a bridge camera, (I've had the Fz1000 and Sony H2 in the past), but have mainly used Dslrs the last few years, I've narrowed my choice down to 3, Rx10 mK 3, fZ2000 and Fz300, I mainly shoot stills nothing specific theses days, just general portraits, nature, macro, planes, birds, landscapes etc, I'll be honest I loved the Fz1000, but felt it's lack of dust/moisture protection hampered it, I've watched A LOT of vids including yours, and still cannot decide, simple question is the Fz2000 worth the difference over the fz300 ?, and a cheekie one; I've tried to find out but how much zoom gain you get by dropping resolution, any info would be greatly appreciated.

Compacts like the Canon G7 mk3 only zoom to around 75mm EFL whilst the Panasonic FZ1000 mk2 is 400mm EFL, top of the leader board is the expensive Sony RX10 mk IV at 480mm EFL

I bought the FZ300 later bought the FZ2500, both are great. Unfortunately the FZ2500 got fungus in the lens it’s not worth sending it for repair so it’s time for it to retired. The FZ300 view finder becomes blurry. Don’t know why? But the LCD still function and the camera still good for 4K video shooting. The FZ300 is fully wether seal I have used it in the rainy day few time it’s marvellous! I love my FZ300 it is light and small and features pack! Panasonic really makes very good cameras.
