I own a customized version of this SDR-H80 Camcorder. It's had its optical filtration removed from the position ahead of the CCD sensor, converting it to a full-spectrum recorder. I own auxiliary filters that I can attach to the lens assembly which return the device to pre-modification spectrum or to IR bandwidth only. I love the hard drive facility on this device (I had to replace the hard drive on a more recent Sony HD, high-capacity camcorder I also own, and it was easy to obtain a new hard disk and follow the installation instructions on KZbin). At any rate, this Panasonic SDR-H80 is a neat Standard Definition device, with exceptional true optical zoom and SD card expansion capability, that has never had a fault in my many years of ownership.

I would like to know how to transfer videos from my Panasonic SDR-H80 to my laptop please. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Am just doing that right now! Remove the battery from the SDR-H80 recorder. Find the power cable that plugs into the left bottom, back panel round socket on the SDR-H80. Plug that in from there to the socket on your charging brick. Plug the charging brick into mains power, but don't turn on yet. Find your USB cable and plug the small end into the SDR-H80 and the large USB end into your laptop. Power on the mains to the charging brick. Open the screen on the SDR-H80, then rotate the mode dial to the first green play icon (the second icon from the OFF marking). Things should come alive on the SDR-H80 screen. Select on the SDR-H80 Screen PC mode. Go to My computer on your laptop. You should see a new drive called CAM-HDD. Create folders on the laptop hard drive to receive the SDR-H80 files. Select all folders on the CAM-HDD drive, copy them and paste into the folders you've readied on your laptop. The scenario I've outlined is for when you DON'T have the Panasonic CD software installed, which simplifies transfer. However, the initial connection from SDR-H80 to Laptop is the same either way.

Alguien me podría decir cómo bajar archivos de la cámara a la computadora? Le meti el cable y USB a la computadora y ni siquiera lo registra?
