I recently bought one of these that is 100% original down to the tires with only a few miles of riding and essentially zero wear. Debating if I will make it a rider or keep it all original as is.

Since you are the panasonic master can you help with me with an important question : When I pedal the bottom bracket feels mushy and I have to pedal harder and or faster than even my older dx 2000! Everything on my 88 dx 5000 is mint even the clear cover stickers on top of the tri-color portion on the brakes! (sidebar: I have even tried installing q rings oval rings 52/40t [However I love biopace too] setup and still the same issue.) I have of course purchased new chain as well. Do u know what would be a good upgrade and specs for a new bottom bracket to fit for this 1988 dx 5000 bike? I love your website and videos. Panasonics are amazing. I even matched my dx5000 with panaracer evo 3 A racing tires :) I am still drooling over your panasonic titanium pics bike video! Never saw a titanium fork let alone such a nice bike especially considering year it was made.

What's the origin of your Panasonic love?

I love all sorts of bikes honestly but I got into Panasonic as an 11 year old since they sold extremely well in the area I grew up in. As I got older I realized just how good they were from a price / performance standpoint. I also have a love for Pinarello... and Porsches.... so maybe it’s a letter P obsession. ;-)
