"Goodbies (the saddest word)" is a beautiful song. It's a 2000s song and was released as a single. It didn't become a hit, but it sure is a lovely meaningful ballad in her discography known to her fans.

Fun fact : "D'eux" the album from where "Pour que tu m'aimes encore" is from is the greatest selling french album of all-time, it sold 10 million copies worldwide^^

Lucky me!!! *Goodbye's (The Saddest Word)* | recorded for her seventh English-language album, A New Day Has Come (2003); written and produced by Mutt Lange while he and his then-wife, Shania Twain, did the backing vocals. It was released as the album's third single. Unfortunately the song performed moderately on the charts, peaking inside the top 40 in some countries. *I Drove All Night* | recorded for her eighth English-language album, One Heart (2003) and released as the lead single. It was also featured in a promo ad for Chrysler. The song was #1 in Canada for 5 weeks while also topping the charts in Belgium (Flanders) and Sweden. Deservedly so, I'd hear it on the radio all the time and danced along each listen.

Yes loved drive all night a lively song and as you say with the one the Spanish beat is great, was wondering if perhaps you should check out Bert Baccarac who just died wrong spelling i think, he made so many well known songs for great artists you'f be surprised the songs the big artists.

About I drove all night you said she kept it simple vocally, that’s probably she was sick as hell while recording. There’s an interview with the producer who said she gave all she got and did take after take besides being ill, so impressive.

God's honest truth, I still have celines performance on 'Top Of The Pops' of "Pour que tu m'aimes encore" on VHS from 95 from when I taped an edition on 'Americas Top 100' (ask ur parents). I still have no idea what she's saying but I think her delivery is beautiful and it's still in my top 3 celine songs. I see now the subtitles, I had my eyes closed when I first watched it.... Kinda feel I preferred the mystery of the unknown, lol

Yes Goodbye was a sort of tribute to her mum, but more about when the day comes to say goodbye. Her mum died over 15 years after this song was recorded! Parler a mon Pere was definitely a tribute to her dad, as he died 8/9 years before the song. Celine actually had a cold when recording I Drove All Night - you wouldn't think it!! Love that song, but then again I love Roy Orbison :)

When it comes to ballads, please react to "Have You Ever Been In Love". Also, "One Heart" is another lovely dancey song by her to react to. The entire "One Heart" album is dancey and has some lovely mid-tempo r'n'b songs ("Faith", "Stand By Your Side", "Naked" are stand outs for me). "I Drove All Night" is from that album, too.

I love the original Roy Orbison version of I Drove All Night, and Celine's version was playing in a show I was watching on netflix an hour or so before I came to watch this video. Now freaked out by this coincidence as I was wondering who was singing it on the show (was just a short background clip).

The original was Cyndi Lauper...then Roy Orbison, then Celine.
