My husband has pancreatic cancer (PNET) 8/11/21 diagnosed. 18 rounds Cap-tem and 6/2/23 a full whipple, colon resection and some perf bowels and sepsis. It’s so refreshing to see diagrams and explanations that can be understood. So many times we have asked to how is it put together, knowing what was removed from him makes sense! Thank you for making videos like these! ❤

Is it possible to get EPI from the blockage or partial blockage of main duct. What about Elastase-1 test and /or IgG4 testing to confirm possible pancreatitis...thoughts??

Thank you 🙏 such a clear explanation. Can you advise please. I had endometrial cancer last year, and was then diagnosed with Lynch syndrome. My mother passed away 6 months prior from pancreatic cancer. Now they’ve found a cyst on my pancreas, exactly what you’ve explained (side branch) but they’re only scanning me every 12 months. Is this enough? I’m worried it will grow rapidly like my mother’s did. I’m not yet 50

Is this the same for other cysts eg for the liver or kidneys etc
@thesurgicalscholar Жыл бұрын
No, each organ may have several cyst types. The liver and kidneys both may have simple cysts, with broad similarities.

I presently have a 3cm mucinous neoplasm on the tail of my pancreas. I have no pain, didn’t know it was there. It was spotted during a ct scan on my thymus gland. I find out on Friday if it is cancer or malignancy. I admit to being scared. It am amazed that something so serious can be there undetected with no symptoms.

@@annapoornafoodcourt335 hello, bloods were good. Was at hospital on Thursday. It has not grown, it seems to be cancer free. However having lost 4 kg i still need to lose more before they will operate. The Dr did say she hoped to save my spleen.

@@jeanleota6543 I had another scan last week. It is still 3cm, doesn’t appear to be cancerous, but it has high chance of becoming so. I have to have half my pancreas and my spleen removed. Just waiting on my date.
