What an incredible review with great bits of advice. I was seriously about to buy one for my small apt but got a bigger place unexpectedly & am able to have washer hookup. I settled on a 3.0 portable washer, Maytag. As close to full size as possible while saving a couple hundred dollars. I would definitely have gotten a Panda with your review. I think these little machines are really nice. The man who delivered my used dryer said these portable washers are good deals & work well & are a good buy. Thanks.

Now that you mention it, my kitchen floor IS the most consistently clean surface in my entire house...LOL You will absolutely love these devices, the convenience of having a washer and dryer in your house is unparalleled. There are a lot of choices (its like a Cheesecake Factory menu of washing machines on Amazon) but I have been really satisfied with the Panda devices - when I upgrade to a single basin machine I'll stay within the brand but I expect I'll have to do some research on which exact machine. I love my portable washing machine! This one is also super awesome! I found an issue that all of these machines have, due to the powerful rotation, your laundry will get tangled up into a large knot during the washing cycle. Your clothing, sheets, and towels will be twisted around each other the entire time and that’s actually not cleaning anything since your laundry detergent works on agitation. Your laundry is not agitating being swirled around in a knotted up, tangled mess...BUT I found a solution to this problem and posted a video on how to fix it! Check it out. Your laundry will be cleaner and you won’t have to untangle a huge mess every time!

I loved this video. Even though it's a year old at this point, there are so many good pointers in this that are still relevant today. I'm also just now looking into a cheaper smaller washer (either a single drum or the twin basin) and am trying to figure out which would be best for me. Love the floating lint catchers. I use a panty hose on the end of the drain hose & a small hand held strainer from the dollar tree, i attached it with a zip tie just incase anything passed through. The built in plastic catchers in these washers suck!

I wish I would have thought of pantyhose... That would have saved me quite a bit of money on these giant bags of traps on Amazon that I don't even use each wash. Thanks for watching! I get what you mean about the manual process. I just purchased an automatic machine - I've only used it once and I'll be filming my thoughts once I wash a few more loads. It definitely did come in a box that said 'Panda Portable Washing Machine' all over the side. Not sure if that's the same with all brands but I would definitely recommend diverting your delivery to the local UPS or FedEx pickup and wrapping the box in some brown paper before bringing it home if that's a concern.

4 years ago when I originally purchased the washer and dryer I had them rerouted to UPS and then brought them in from my car. The boxes are big and they are heavy but not too bad and I don't have any stairs to climb and I was able to shuffle the boxes slowly with relative ease. This go round I just had the washing machine delivered to my door and hoped if anyone saw the box coming in they'd be cool about it. Lol

Hello, I have one of these washers as well. I have found that the Tide (detergent) brand of mesh zipper wash bags last 2 years before wearing out. In the package you get a large sweater bag and a smaller size delicates bag.

Here's a tip for you to get all of the water out of your washer, since you've now decided to keep your twin-basin. After you're finished washing and drain most of the water out, attach the drain hose to the washer so it's facing up, then transfer it to your sink counter, now put drain hose in sink, and gravity will drain all of it out!

Up till now I've been in the "if it ain't broke don't fix it" group and not wanting to sell my perfectly good washing machine and buy a new one. After filming this video and thinking about how much more work it actually is to use this machine versus a single basin device if I upgraded? Getting a single basin washing machine is now on my list of things to do for 2021. Definitely want to stay with panda because I trust their quality inn customer service, but I think I will be upgrading this year. If and when I do, I'll make an updated video. If you're on a budget and don't want to spend the extra money, the two basin machine I have is a great washing machine AND gets your clothes dry enough that you can easily line dry and skip the dryer. Love the review - I have a portable washer I have in my guest bathroom. It’s used mostly by me so I don’t have to drag clothes up and down the stairs. My struggle was the drain hose…I tell you I was so tired of taping the hose to tub….. I bought a handicap handle that suctions to the tub.. I zip tied the hose to the handle - I don’t mess with tape anymore. Works like a charm. I can also take it and move it with the tub.
@TaliaWarrenDesign2 жыл бұрын
Wait, explain this to me lol! The handle is on the machine and the hose is on the handle... Does your water drain into a place lower than the height of the machine or do you have the handle anchored in some way so you can swing it over to the sink? I'd love to get something more permanent set up - I forgot to put the hose on the sink and got water all over the floor just this week. :/

Thank you for this review! One question I have is how is this draining if this is not an automatic machine? If this is gravity drain, shouldn't the machine be on the same level or higher than the drain? I see that you taped your hose to the faucet higher than the machine, and I find it puzzling. Would you please elaborate? Thank you!
@TaliaWarrenDesign Жыл бұрын
The drain motor is powerful enough to get most of the water up the hose and into the sink, though it would probably work better if I were draining into something like a bathtub with a lower edge. Instead, I just drop the hose into a pan on the floor and drain excess water before storing the machine - this lets me get the last of the water out of the machine without the motor working against gravity - hope that helps!
@americarocks3175 Жыл бұрын
@@TaliaWarrenDesign It does, very much so!!! !!! I have a similar machine and am not using it because it is too heavy for me to lift and place into the tub and then to move out of the tub - the hose is too short on it. I saw long hoses for sale on amazon, which could be used as an extension, but my understanding from all the reviews of similar machines was that they had to be higher (or on the same level) as the place they drain to. However, if I can drain most of the water in the way you do, that would be a huge win! I, too, have the other Panda- automatic- and it is heavy and cumbersome to move in and out of the closet and too powerful- I feel like my neighbors downstairs would probably object if they weren't hard of hearing. (of course, I have to live with their TV blasting, but that's a whole 'nother story!). Thank you for responding so fast!! p.s. forgot to ask- which tape do you use?

@TaliaWarrenDesign Жыл бұрын
You can wash anything that can fit in the smaller spin basin. All my blankets fit, pillows can fit one at a time with a little force but I buy thin, cheap Amazon pillows so that may help matters lol My 4 season duvet insert and a weighted blanket are the only items I've had that don't fit in the spinner. The blanket I got rid of; the duvet insert is the ONLY item I have to bring to the laundry and it's a less frequent task than weekly laundry so it's not too bad (I live in LA so the duvet is often just for show. I'm pretty sure a lighter, 2 or 3 season insert could fit in the spin basket of a larger machine). Hope that helps! Thanks for watching!!

Hey! For a manual washing machine you can probably find one on Amazon - I imagine any size hose that fits will work. Are you aware of if they still make this model or have they perhaps rebranded?

Glad the video was helpful! Panda stopped making the twin basin machines and only sell the automatic, single basin versions if you want to buy new. I linked in the description some highly rated, twin basin devices from other brands as well as some of the newer machines from Panda if you want to go that route. I have a video on my channel where I compare my older machine to a newer single basin model from Panda and decided to keep the older model. If my machine broke today or tomorrow I would probably replace it with a twin basin from another brand but that's only because I've got four years of getting used to the process of using my machine and they fit slightly better in my kitchen because they're narrower.
