I started doing my own laundry when I was around 11. I accidentally washed some money, and it was fine but I was afraid I was going to get in trouble for “money laundering” because I had no idea what it actually meant 😂. I wouldn’t even ask my parents about it I was so afraid.

Carla, thank you for sharing. I've used a compact washer and dryer for about five years...wanted to suggest a few things. I use a mesh strainer in my sink along with regular cleaning of the one in the washer. Save your pipes from getting clogged. Also, you MUST vent your dryer to the outside. Lint is a fire hazard and it is unhealthy to inhale. You should not have that blowing freely into your home...for the health and safety of you and your dog. Proud of you for pretreating...that is one step I omit (but probably shouldn't).
@TheCarlaProject

Also please get a lint trap to attach to your drain hose or used a pair of cheap nylon stockings. I use a sink strainer and the lint trap to be double safe. It's amazing how much the lint trap catches. People forget about the lint trap on their drain hose I notice in most videos.

They’re so soothing (I think it’s your voice lol) but also motivate me to get me moving and start a pick up in my apartment. All my life I thought I hated laundry. [*hated*] I even added a second dryer at one point, which required some renovations, to try and solve my issues with doing laundry. Turns out, I hate big loads! I bought a small fixer-upper house without hookups when I downsized, so I got a portable set like yours until I could gut the place. Life changing! Never going back!

I have a Panda PAN6360W, the younger and slightly bigger sibling of your washer, for a little over a year and I've found loading the washer only 3/4 of the way results in much better results as far as how clean your clothes can get. These impeller washers aren't as strong as the OG central column washers so they need a little extra room to allow the clothes to move around and rub up against the drum where all those holes and indentions do the "scrubbing". Just a heads up. You do what works for you. Nice video and chill BGM.

Your bedroom is gorgeous. Those windows, with the beautiful trees outside, and the light! Love the wood floors and how light and airy it looks. Had to say that first. I had one of those small portable washers when I lived in a place with no washer. No dryer, used a clothes line but I have to say those little washers do a great job spin drying so clothes are almost dry. Thought about getting a small dryer but had nowhere to vent it. Your washer is great, almost like a regular full size one, and no transferring clothes in one side, into the other, babysitting it as it fills. Still, it beat going to a laundromat. Your setup is much better.

The Carla Project, in 1994 at a laundromat I obliviously washed a plum lipstick and then it went in the DRYER with ALL of my light colored clothing 😖 not some of my light clothes. I can't believe how much clothes you put into the washer and it looks clean coming out. Just love the light that comes into your bedroom and the great windows! I also do wash once a week which is normally 5 loads with a full washer and dryer. I do separate washes for sheets, towels, white wash and our clothes separated into dark and colors. I remember many years ago I had a one bedroom apartment and had a Kenmore portable washer which was the best! it great to have the pleasure of not going to the laundromat.

I bought one of those washers a different brand on offerup for only $80 bucks I figured since I'm spending like $10 plus dollars every time I go to the laundrymat these days, I figured I was saving buying one. I don't use a dryer, I like to hang everything around my apartment. I would still wash my comforter and my livingroom rug (yes I put my livingroom 12 ft rug in the medium washer at my lm, it only costs $4 to wash and of course Tide gets it sparkling clean. I have it in storage now I know how to get it together. I have to give up my storage at the end of this month so now I'll know how to use one of those. And thank gol my little doggie is 1/4 his size and that it washes dog stuff. AWESOME!

Lestoil took out most of those stains. I like your in-house system but agree with being concerned about about Venting your dryer into the house as it results inserious high air moisture problems as well as a TON of dust/lint in the air not to mention built up lint in dryers is a big cause of house fires.

Carla, One of my friends who lives in a one-bedroom, low-income housing also has a portable washer and dryer which is similar to yours. Every year the Superintendent does an inspection. He opened her walk-in closet, saw them and told her to get rid of them because it's not allowed in the apartment. She also got two letters warning her about having the machines but she's not getting rid of them. She uses them every weekend!

Wife mentioned us getting a portable washer but I wasn't sure how big they were or if they would clean that good but it turns out they do a great job and also I had no idea that they sold portable dryers that you can just use a vent attachment if you don't have a vent going outside and that collects all the lint and helps with some of the humidity at least somewhat. Thanks for the videos it really helps out with making my decision for me and my wife to get one of those units. 😁

I've had Kleenex and oh yeah screws from my husbands jean pockets. I always double check now. I can't believe how much you can fit in that little machine! 👍

I had crayons in one of my pockets when I did laundry. Dried them too, and ruined my favorite skirt and a sweater. Lesson learned 😊

Oh wow that amount of washing and drying it one day is alot! I also turn all clothes Inside out before I wash and dry them... I also have 2 laundry baskets...that all my clothes go in...then every wed or Thurs I do a mixed load (I buy those colour catcher sheets and place them in a zipped underwear bag (so they don't clog filters) and throw my washing in, I then let it air dryer once done, then put in dryer the next evening to soften and take out any creases, I fold once red hot out the dryer, at the weekend I wash my towels, and bedding, so I do about 3-4 loads a week! I have a cheaper electricity tarriff, so it cheaper for me to dry, use dishwasher or charge any devices between 8.30pm-11.30pm

My husband is in the trades, i used to be really bad about checking pockets until a sharpie was left in the washer and dryer and not only did it ruin a ton of my kids clothes but my husbands company shirts and carharts which are like $65 a pair.. it ruined 3. The whole load was stained. Another time a razor blade was left in his pockets… I cried having to replace my teenagers Levi’s which took the brunt of the damage 😭

I love that you can do your laundry at home. I just told my daughter about the dryer. She was looking to get a portable washer and I don't think she knew about the dryer.

Samson is so cute! Hope he loves his fresh and clean bed! Loving your gorgeous hardwood floors and your massive windows that allow all that SoCal sunlight in, but still total privacy. That's the way to get it done...all at once. Think I once washed something cashmere. Maybe a sweater? It was TODDLER SIZE when it came out of the washer. smh lol
