If only Japanese players have more opportunities to travel to the USA, it would make the S tier tournaments way more stack than they already are. Unlike DBZ Fighters, Street Fighter , Tekken and more, Smash is a game where people struggle to travel due to bad payment and more.

actually dbzf, tekken and other fgcs are struggling right now. Only Street Fighter is keeping the prize money. Smash is already the biggest fgc game and in terms of people travelling to us is already 2/3 with Tekken. SF still first by a large margin though, due to the fact that a lot of the biggest competitions are happening outside of us, in japan, taiwan and europe.

Seems like the concept of a traditional main isn't going to survive this game. 1 Leo ( Joker, Lucina) 2 Samsora ( Peach and desperately trying to come.up something as a secondary, ZSS, Palutena, Bayo) 3 Tweek ( Wario, Wolf, Roy supposedly going forward.....sad he dropped PT., won with Joker also.) 4 Mars ( ZSS, Megaman, C.Falcon, Ike) 5 Zackray ( Joker, Rob, Wolf, Mario, PT, G&W I honestly have no idea if he has a main at this point, could be Rob, could be Joker, could be Wolf?) 6 Nairo ( Palu, ZSS, Joker 7 Gluttony ( Wario, but he plays a crap load of characters, something tells we may see more of those in more serious situations if he wants to stay in the top 10) 8 Dabuz ( He's got his 3.....Olimar, Rosa, Palu) 9 Light ( Fox.....but im sure if he can stay in the top 10 without diversifying.......he's mentioned husband Greninja recently and he has a Falco and a Wolf, I think we'll see some changes before the years out.) 10 Maister ( G&W, but he got lit up by Greninja.........his secondary Pichu does better in that match and covers Joker, ZSS and Palu......I think he obviously knows this so we'll probably see more Pichu, rats aren't secondary friendly though so it may take him some time.)

Lol I'm sorry, but wut??? Let's go back over that list, but for real this time. MkLeo -- great at many characters, yes, but everyone agrees he pretty much sticks to Joker solo-main now. Out of 237 PGR games in the past season, 197 of them he went Joker Samsora -- played peach/daisy in 192 out of 198 games (and can't win with his secondaries XD) Tweek -- can't find a main, although admits his Wario is currently his best results-wise; a great example of top level play with multiple characters, but doesn't rely on them to cover matchups... mostly goes through phases where he basicallly mains one character (Wario, PT, back to Wario) Marss -- played ZSS in 137 out of 154 games (and his secondaries are CRUSTY, although mega man against Leo somehow worked and was hype) zackray -- similar to Tweek, another player who can pick up a random character and look top-level clean in a matter of weeks Nairo -- went Palu 120 times out of 135 Glutonny -- literally only plays Wario at all major tournaments, he doesn't even switch when he's in a bad matchup down 2-0 Dabuz -- a true co-main, using Olimar and Rosa to cover matchup spreads; don't know what you mean with Palu tho lol; Tweek, zackray, and Dabuz are the ONLY THREE out of the top TEN who aren't solo-mains atm Light -- as you admit, he just plays Fox; lol maybe he'll try to pick up those other characters like you said but I HIGHLY doubt it Maister -- okay you've got to be kidding me, this man IS game and watch; I'll admit, recently his secondaries have finally shown some growth (seen only in squad strike ofc) but just a thought experiment, if Sakurai decided to finally delete G&W from Smash, would Maister even be top 50? I'll let you think on that one You have a point, being able to play multiple characters at a top-level is a TREMENDOUS benefit in competitive Smash, as it allows players to stay relevant in a changing meta, adapt for patches, and cover matchups. However, the truth is, it's very hard to actually do, and really only 3 out of the top 10 currently are capable of consistently winning with more than 1 character. Speaking of the top 10, you listed them in the wrong order. It should be: 1. MkLeo 2. Samsora 3. Tweek 4. Nairo 5. Marss 6. Maister 7. zackray 8. Light 9. Dabuz 10. Glutonny

If Leo didn't play Lucina Void would have eliminated him 2 months ago. If Mars was forced to play Megaman Kameme was forced to pick up Wario Dabuz has brought back Palu with Olimar/Rosa. Gluttony plays like 10 characters EVERY euro tourney until he gets to the finals. Zackray and Tweek are obvious And yes Maister has had his Pichu the entire year waiting in the wings. I agree with you Mr. Game and Trash should be burned. Since October Nairo has brought back out Wolf and Joker in tourney and has been forced to use ZSS. If Samsora can't brush his other characters he's going to drop in the rankings. MuteAce already has a functional Palu Samsora isn't far behind.

@@frijoless22 i took dabuz cz idk i felt like that. Dabuz has 3 A tier top 8, 2 S tier top 8 (3 9th unlucky). He has bad losses to Venia and MuteAce only (if you don't count Nicko and Riddles). Light has 4 A tier top 8, 4 S tier top 8. He has many bad losses (unknown players like meme). Maister has 2 A tier top 8 (2 for 2), 3 S tier top 8 (3/5) and bad losses to yeti and Leffen (maybe you count Pandarian). I think they are all on par and those 3 are fighting for 7/8/9 and even 10 if Evo 3rd place means that much.

If you look closer at the rest of his resume (not shown here), you'll see that he wasn't quite as consistent in Japan, not making top 8 at any of the umeburas he attended (17th twice and 9th once). Not awful placements, of course, but still enough to just barely miss top 10 (plus not going to either Smashcon or EVO).
