Here is my definitive list of the Characters in Twisted Metal 4 Ranked from WORST to BEST!
I decided to re-make my previous Tier-List of the Twisted Metal 4 Characters because I felt that my previous list had become out of date with my current views on the game.

One thing about orbitals special i like is when enemies are tethered, you can use an autolob to get more hits in since they won't get knockback

Thanks for continuing this series of rankings, I love to see em just as much as I enjoy sharing mine That said, to be fair I'm harshest on TM4 than I am with any other game in the series, but writing them all out I'm surprised how little of these characters I actually hate. Instead, I do see how most of them could be tweaked and improved to be better - I've just never personally been a fan of how many new characters this game tried to dump into a series with so many already-estsblished characters, which the new ones I think heavily clash with the themes and vibes of the established TM roster. I would place Super Axel in the same place you did, but for the opposite reasons. The special does barely any dmg on its own and the fire doesn't add all that much. His armor, on the other hand, is insanely good. Hell, look at 27:46. You used ST's special on him and bombarded him with weapons while he was in it and you still needed to use another special just to kill him. That's crazy. I would put Trash Man next to all of the construction vehicles as he essentially has the same special as them. I'd put Microblast higher, but that's just because he's really fun to drive imo and I really enjoy his design. His crank moving slower when he's taken significant dmg is a really nice touch. Also, I appreciate you shouting out my girl Meter Maid. Love that vehicle

Yeah I realized later on that I miss-spoke about his armor. I somehow said the opposite of what I wanted LOL He has very good armor. But I just dislike how he feels to drive mostly. His special honestly does alot of damage for what it is and compared to other specials in the game!

Great video! I love the creativity in this game; Calypso, Moon Buggy, Sweet Tooth, etc. all look so unique and distinct from the rest of the vehicles in the series. Is there anything specific that puts Super Thumper's design ahead of other versions of the character for you?

I have always loved TM4 regardless of its sillyness. Trashman and Orbital were always my favorites and that game taught me patience and to love Rob Zombie haha

I like Auger the most out of the melee cars like Slam, Crusher, and Trashman. Those 3 just sling oppents up and down. They sling each other ALOT when they hit each other with them. Auger spinning combined with their up and down creates a space program. You play Auger with the knowledge that you are probably slinging yourself out of the map against them, and that's fun to me.

I would argue that meter maid could be much higher, simply because her special. The healing you get from it is so good that most levels I don't ever need to pick up health packs.

Microblast, for me, was a really cool idea that could have been much better. I think if they would have come up with a better idea for his special or at least made it B tier or better, he could have been salvageable. I honestly loved the idea that his hitbox was so small it was like Oddball from Goldeneye which was a very neat concept. Crusher also scared me when I was a kid for the very same reason. Anyone playing this game knew what number one was lol

Funny thing about Warthog's tank handling is tread vehicles actually handle pretty well in real life. Don't know if you find that interesting, but thought I'd share.

@kodykernan6917 fair point. I hadn't factored that part in. In that case, it likely wouldn't handle as smoothly as modern tread vehicles, but I don't think it'd be too bad. I might be wrong, but I'd need to ask someone who's driven one. Unfortunately, I don't know anyone who has.

I feel like warthog should be higher. If you freeze an enemy and jump over them you can get his special directly under your enemies vehicle for max damage.

The reason drag Queen has horrendous handling is because the car is a DRAG RACER. Drag racers are designed to go fast IN A STRAIGHT LINE. If you watch drag racing videos you'll notice that a lot of drag cars have really skinny front tires

I do realize half the bosses in Twisted Metal 4 where actually supposed to be regular characters. It was just kind of just slapped on to Make the game seem more epic that have a boss on every level.

RC Car is not a good player car, but the CPU can be a treat in hard difficult cause have a lot armor and is difficult to hit a lot, and the lazer gun can cause too much damage. General Warthog you can just jump over the enemy and use the special weapon, it's more effective. And Creat a Car ( Medium / B / Detnoball ) is one of the best vehicles you can have in this game

I woulda put Crusher above auger n slam just because of his special. Unlike slam n trash man, your missiles never miss and go through the enemy that you're crushing. And unlike auger, his special resets when your special connects with an enemy. Yes, he is pretty sluggish, but it's not that hard to crush em when you shield and then drop + detonate a freeze bomb. Also, for all the slam clones, id argue that all of their specials are much better than 'mid' when you combine it with mortars, which make the special do WILD damage and can kill some enemies with one special.

I like Auger for chaos. Crusher, Slam, and Trashman have same motion of lifting and slamming. They hit each other, and they behave a bit wonky sometimes throwing themselves up high. Auger is different. If he spins into one while they are slamming then you both are going to go flying. Absolutely unpredictable direction, and height could be small or skybox. Auger is the mad man's choice, and I vibe with it.

First, I love your ranking of TM4, and I feel you had good reasons for all of them. Now, a question: Who here believes the theory that all the games after 4 are a separate continuity? I've seen some people use this as the reason that all the follow-on games are so drastically different from the first 4. (Some people say 4 is a different continuity as well, but I could see the insane clown rewriting reality after 3) What do you think?

The one problem I have is that the narrator failed to mention that Micro Blast sounds exactly like Jacksepticeye in Twisted Metal 4.

Surprised Capt. Grimm is dead last, but considering how you rated them it makes sense. It definitely sucks across the board , but that gave a sense of satisfaction when hitting things - still wouldn't willingly pick it though. Personally Quatro has never felt great to play, probably something to do with how it's a hovercraft but uses the same physics the other cars do, it just felt wrong. Microblast is my 2nd least used character, likely driving it in vanilla TM4 just felt so mid that nothing really stuck out. Pedro's mod really gave it the squirrel driving it needed though! General Warthog seems to have been designed the way Sweet Tooth should have been - amazing car, special that one should care less about. He's definitely rewarding to play as, but in the way that you use every other weapon to win (mirroring that his technology is very outdated lol). Sweet Tooth on the other hand even if one did a no-special run he would still be the most broken character by a mile it's insane. The Joneses on the other hand... they didn't manage to make the car look very attractive sadly lol and that basically ruined the rest of the package for me. Personal favourite vanilla has always been Medium 1 or 2 with Twintorchers. They are slow, but the fact you can just harass the AI from across the map is pretty broken to me - in comparison, Homing and MIRV can be hard to come by, especially at quantities that Twintorchers does!

Every time I had to fight moon boggie gave me little nerves because it special is kind of frustrating and irritating, so for me is the 2nd strongest boss in the game when you have to fight him of course, not when you play as him.

I think capt Grimm aka capt sugar foot and microblast are the weakest characters in the game. My favorites are pizza boy and the joneses also super thumper is what drag queen should've been.

​@@oatmealman4743nostalgia gogles. TM2 has worse graphics, no doubt about it. It might have better art direction and design, but it is way uglier than 4. Just the low res sprites alone make it look way worse and dated.
