Great advice from this doctor in his previous clips about vitamin D. I live in Australia.

No infections so far, no inhalers and haven't had a cold at all this year.. perhaps social distancing plays its part too but the vit D is essential.

Dr. John Campbell As far as I can ascertain, mask wearing in public spaces began the end of April in Germany An interesting subject to investigate. I really do hope there is something to this reduction of initial viral load.
@rijamor4 жыл бұрын
Surely increased mask wearing would mean fewer infections and that's not the case. I suspect the virus is weakening, there's more immunity than we think and its run out of people to kill.
@ljo6424 жыл бұрын
@@rijamor And we're told there will be a flu epidemic this winter - so why aren't the muzzles preventing the infection by other coronoviruses?
@cgjoe644 жыл бұрын
Cardinal Fang The theory is that mask wear will help limit spread and possibly reduce the severity of an infection. The data shows that there is a definite reduction in death rate per infection in Germany Masks will not reduce infection by the same degree as isolation, so it would seem reasonable for cases to increase without a lockdown , if there is still community spread. Mask wear has been shown to reduce the spread. The reduction of severity of an infection due to reducing the viral load is merely speculation at this point

Regarding the death rates falling - this doesn’t surprise me because many people I know in the UK who are either elderly or have health conditions are still shielding despite the fact that the government have eased measures. Therefore these people aren’t in the equation and the pool of people who get very sick are ones less likely to die.

I have a theory that vitamin D is responsible for the fewer deaths we are seeing now. I think that when the virus hit in Europe in the early part of the year killed so many people because so many people had not enough vitamin D in their body’s. As you know the body stores vitamin D kind of like a solar panel so needs time to build up decent amounts in the body, this was not happening through autumn and winter so when it came to early spring when the virus hit us all, we had low levels of vitamin D. Now here we are in late summer, vitamin D levels should be pretty high in the majority of people, so the serious illness and deaths is also now lower. Your thoughts anyone?
@ThePhildamon14 жыл бұрын
I think it has more to do with social distancing and mask wearing which creates a lower viral load. I've read a few studies that all point to that being the reason. Death rates have dropped all over the world, even in places like Australia where they are just finishing up winter. So the Vit D theory wouldn't hold up in that case.
@lordbutler13 жыл бұрын
Or maybe it’s because the virus hasn’t hit the elderly population yet
@return2earthvideochannel3 жыл бұрын
Lower death rates are PROBABLY due to a combination of precautionary factors and maybe vitamin D from the sun and/or supplements. In any event, UK Gov stands accused of gross negligence for not recommending to the Public we should ALL boost our Vitamin D, Vitamin C and Zinc levels as an insurance against viruses... it is simply common sense that the so called experts are sadly lacking in. How they get PhD's I will never know!

As someone who had to evacuate due to the fires in Oregon, I can confirm that procedures to prevent infection were largely enforced. For the first day, we were set up in a gym. Every family unit had 10x10 ft (3x3 m) for cots. Masks were worn at all times unless eating & drinking. Sanitizer and temperature checks at the doors, which had entrance & exit separated. The meal lines were not so great though. Distancing in those lines was requested, but not enforced, and people were cramming together. Thankfully, that only lasted 24 hours before red cross was able to set everyone up in hotel rooms. I'm hopeful that we won't see a big uptick in cases due to these events.

More cases means more tests. The RT-qPCR test is a non binary test that tests for the N gene for the coronavirus in insignificant quantities. We all have it because this gene is present in many respiratory conditions. If you have had a cold in the last year you will likely test positive. Most cases are asymptomatic because a positive test does not establish infection. In other words, these people are not infected, they are not ill, and they are not contagious

(MPIE) mass population immunization by exposure (herd immunity) is the only way low level virulence / high contagious types of viruses ever come to an end, through virulence dilution by infection saturation through out the healthy population. This is absolutely nothing new however and is precisely how all these outbreaks have ever ended. History dictates that a vaccine will not be effective for SARS-COV-2, as they have never been effective for any Cor/viruses or flu for that matter due to the rapid antigenic shift (mutating) properties within the viral RNA polymerase Ribosome's replication system deep inside the cells nucleus. Those of us who are very vulnerable healthwise are still staying at home & not allowing visitors in. We have kept ourselves safe but have now not been out to shop or socialise for six months & know that we face about another year of this. It is difficult to do this & keeping yourself mentally stable is hard work. I'm steeling myself to cope with this for the next year but desperately hoping it will not not be longer. For those in my situation- remember that there is a lot you can do for yourself & that it is very important to have a plan- especially for the winter. Plan how to stay in touch with each person. See if there is some way you can help others, be supportive & find something positive to talk about, just listening helps. Ask friends if they would like to disscuss something. Send someone a poem. Plan what you can do to support your physical & mental health, take vitamins, eat greens, do something active most days, spend some time outside regularly, give yourself positive messages, connect with others. Plan things to do with your home, you might paint a wall, reorganise a room, or clear out a cupboard. Plan to do something creative, you might try making some new meals or write stories from your life or photograph sunsets, or create cards. Plan to learn something, - it could be a language, it could be yoga or tai chi, it could be a craft, or art history, there are many resources online or you could order books or CD s from catalogues, swap information over the phone or just ask friends to bring books. Plan to enjoy yourself. Make a list of all the ways you can enjoy yourself & keep adding to it. Plan to appreciate your life. Look at flowers, trees, pictures or architecture. Listen to music, birdsong, stories, or talks. Relax with a bath or shower. Experiment with massaging yourself. Re-read your favourite books. Get some colours & play with them, see how they look next to each other, make patterns, let your hands move. Plan for just five minutes. On days when you do not feel like doing anything much try doing things for just five minutes. I am sure everyone can think of other things they can do. Hoping people can find peace of mind. Wishing everyone peace & relaxation.

Thanks for addressing the wildfire smoke. I don’t think most people realize how hellish it’s been here in the San Francisco area. Just northeast of the city, my location is surrounded by fires on every side, there is one between me and the coast, too. So, no matter which way the wind blows, we get smoked heavily. All the clothes inside our closets and drawers have ash on them. When I cleaned my bedroom ceiling fan yesterday, there was a 2” layer of ash on top of the blades. Most coastal Californians don't have AC, because after a few days of heat, the cool, clean wind blows from the ocean. But, because it’s been so hot, we have to open our windows at night, no choice. Indoor temperatures of 95-100F+ just aren’t livable, either. Also, most of our outdoor workers just can’t take time off and still feed their families, indoor work is so scarce now because of COVID. Unless we get good, heavy rainstorms (unlikely until November), this smoke will not clear for weeks, most fires started in the August firestorm are still burning, despite the heroic efforts of our local, and imported fire-fighters. When I looked weeks ago, we had lost an area the size of Rhode Island, and were approaching the size of Delaware.

The Canadian report reminded me of conditions in NSW, Australia back in pre-covid January. Many people were using N95 masks at that time for protection from the smoke, which depleted stocks of those in the lead up to COVID. Conditions like this compete with the value of ventilation as a COVID prevention strategy. In Canberra Australia, the smoke came in on the evening winds, as it's inland and the fires were closer to the Pacific coast. DreamFPV In the US, masks were asked to be used by the general public only after the cases and fatalities were rising. Also, in the "beginning" of the pandemic, testing numbers in the US were low due to problems with the antigen test. P.s. In scientific collaboration, the phrase, "wake up" sometimes indicates an unwillingness to engage in collegiality! :-)

John, keep up the good work. Wish the media and government were giving us this quality of analysis.
