So like, long story here, even longer than what I normally include in my comments. My mentor throughout all the touhou games so far was a fan like 15 years ago. He played UFO when it was new. Compared to me, he was and still is incredibly good--with multiple Lunatic 1ccs under his belt and, somehow, a full clear of StB. LoLK broke him, so much he literally swore off the series. I had LoLK hyped up for me by any and everyone. Course I knew what I was getting into. I uh, I made it to Clownpiece on one credit! Game overed five times to Clownpiece. Never saw Junko. I have never been a fan of super repetetive games like LoLK's inspiration I Wanna Be The Guy. So I just said fuck it. I used THPrac to demo all the bosses patterns and then said my very early farewells to the game. Maybe someday. I told him I would not play TH16 onward until he played them. He downloaded HSiFS about four days ago. He seemingly effortlessly got a full slew of normal and extra clears for all four characters. I think HSiFS has reignited his love for the series. We spent two hours talking about Etarnity Larva lore. There's something about Hecatia's theme that makes me feel a particular way. It feels so oddly fitting for its place in this story. There's a sinister air to it, but it has that very palpable touhou feeling that almost feels like it's speaking to me and my mentor directly. The fact that it is then followed by HSiFS's A Star of Hope Rises in the Blue Sky feels like they work hand in hand, as if to say... "Welcome back." Masterful work as always Viddy. Call him ReimuA the way he don't fuckin miss and also has a smaller hitbox and a longer opportunity to bomb after touching a bullet. These are well established ViddyWell abilities.

Awesome cover like always! Pandemonic Planet has to be one of the most suspenseful themes in all of Touhou until it hits that really fast and amazing part and including the fact it sounds just as good when you play it! It’s absolutely awesome. I’d also suggest trying Magus Night (GFW ver.)

I have yet to see a cover of this song- But if you could attempt Sagume’s theme (Reversed wheel of fortune) at some point, maybe?? I was surprised how few piano covers there are for that track- it’s got a walking bass-line and everything 😭. Such an underrated gem from LoLK! Regardless, amazing work as always. 🎉

Nice! Love Hecatia and her theme ❤️ I also love Akatsuki Récords’ version of it called HelloHell Btw, I have a question for you if that is ok. How on Earth do you so consistently produce these awesome piano arrangements of these songs? I have been playing piano for 5 years and could never even play something like this, let alone create them in the span of days and somehow play them nearly 100% correctly. Also, are these first takes or do you sometimes need to start over due to mistakes or whatnot? In any case, keep up the incredible work✨🌸
@ViddyWellSA115 ай бұрын
Thanks! I rarely manage to get these covers right on my first take. It has happened before, but again, it's rare. It depends on how I'm feeling really, some mistakes tend to happen due to tiredness. Usually it's the 4th or 5th take :) About the consistent uploads, I guess it just has to do with Touhou songs usually following a similar pattern. Obviously I'm not saying that they're all the same, but ZUN's style is so "strong" and instantly recognizable that arranging his pieces becomes almost automatic at some point. Similar chord progressions, rhythms etc... I also usually work on multiple videos/covers at once. That means that when I'm working on, let's say, Pandemonic Planet, I'm not entirely "blind" to the whole thing. I may already have mastered some sections, while needing to polish some others. There's never a situation where I'm like "I don't know where to start". :)

@@ViddyWellSA11 Interesting! To me, this makes the almighty ViddyWell sound a lot more human. I mean this in a good way, it makes you seem a lot more like a real passionate person rather than a robot that pumps out insanely good songs again and again lol. I do agree, ZUN's songs do often feel very similar to each other, even if they do differ in their melodies or whatnot. Thanks for the detailed reply :)
