Love watching your videos Jane I stared painting not long ago when I was diagnosed with cancer. The hospital that I was having my treatment The Christies cancer hospital UK . Have an art room and that and the fantastic teacher Pat made going through everything so much easier. So I know what you mean when you say art is healing and medatative.

Lovely Jane. I loved your inspiring words. I think when I paint mine, before I put the background in, I’ll spray the underbelly with some black spots using a toothbrush. Then clean up the background with the blues and Payne’s grey and white. Beautiful fish. The layers came out so great.

Painting with Jane I completed this and it was a lot of fun. However I had a very difficult time getting my background just right. After about 3 do-overs I finally tried using my filbert flat and a light pressure. The matte medium was a big help during this part of the painting. Sometimes I want to create paintings that look more realistic. My version of this does not, unfortunately but I’m sure this skill comes with practice.
