Here Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma tell us on how Burman Dada showed respect towards Samata Prasad (tabla player) though Dada was much senior, how Dada went over to Shiv Kumar Sharma's house early in the morning to reward him with cash on his performance during the recording a day earlier at Famous Studios, and how Shiv Kumar himself came to play tabla in 'Guide' song 'Mose chhal kiye jaye', though he had left playing tabla many years earlier and switched over to playing santoor for which he became world famous.
Shiv Kumar Sharma ji also dwells on another well known anecdote about Burman Dada who would not share his paan with anyone.
During my research I have found out that Burman Dada's paan were made to order, different from others. In addition to that, his paans prepared by his wife Meera ji had a a peel of dried orange for added flavour. Naturally if Dada shares his paans with everyone, there would have none left for himself.
