HI James. Nice to see you cover this movie and the new set. I've known the film for many years, but it's never looked as good as it does now, even though it's assembled from prints that are not the original camera negative, which no longer exists. It's a film like no other I can think of...to think of when it was made makes it more amazing.

Hey James, just picked up Perfect Days 4k and totally love it, thank you for the review/recommendation. Wim Wenders a genius director, also recommend his masterpiece Until the End of the World, along with others of his you mentioned. Also got I Knew Her Well, had seen twice on Criterion Channel and just love those 60's Italian classics. Next up definitely Stranger Than Paradise, along with Arrow's upcoming 4k A Simple Plan, and a few others I have to agonizingly choose from, so many I want. Will investigate further Pandora's Box, your detailed review very well done, your excitement for it infectious, and Sembene films.

great video. One of the Criterion movies I recommend is a beautiful black and white doc called Faya Diya. I had a chance to watch it where the director was present and did a Q and A. It is a wonderfully unique film.

Hello, David! Glad you enjoyed the video. Data Dayi is a beautiful film and I reviewed the Criterion blu-ray back in 2022 I believe. Check it out in the Criterion reviews playlist. That had to be a cool experience seeing it along with a director Q&A with Beshir.

Nice review! Glad I waited for this Criterion release and passed on Eureka's previous blu-ray that digitally erased some coins from a shot. The coins are back in Criterion's restoration. My only quibble with it is the inclusion of so many optional music scores - a bit of overkill. If we must have a choice, then go with either orchestra or piano and throw out the other two.

So far I’ve picked up the 4K of Raging Bull, and the blu-rays of Amores Perros, A Night to Remember, and finally found a copy of Dekalog! 🙏🏼
