Nobody ever explained the reason for the JAMMA harness or the fact it interfaces a real arcade machine directly into a Pandora’s box with no modding. I hope I summed that up. Thanks for the jnfo.
@TheYuppiejr5 жыл бұрын
Great video! Looking at the Pandora specific JAMMA harness photos on your website it looks like the COIN2 pin is totally open, so there's no way to access the PAUSE feature with the harness included unless you add the wire. If it's not possible to change the harness design, you could add a wire to the kit (same length as the other button wires) with a 2.8 x 0.5mm female connector on each end to run from the JAMMA pin to the second button next to Player 2 start and have the PAUSE feature from the otherwise redundant second COIN button. Also, the JAMMA harness audio is mono, but it looks like the harness is running the two speaker outputs in parallel, which gives you two speaker connections, but still mono audio. With the LCD driver board, there is an amplified stereo audio output (from the HDMI input) on the right side of the board with the power connector on the bottom left. It uses a standard JST PH 2.0MM 4 Pin terminal on the board, so you just need a female connector to interface it (the R/L and ground pinouts are silk screened on the board). They cost about 50 cents a pop on Amazon in a 15 pack and you could just steal the 2 speaker wires from the JAMMA harness and splice the harness ends to this connector instead to get stereo output (still controlled from the Pandora volume knob). www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0732MMD7K
@diyretroarcade5 жыл бұрын
yes the coin 2 is open, we include 2 pieces of daisy chain now so you could actually use that piece of grey wire i cut in the video. Pause was not available on the older Pandora so we never had a coin 2 wire. You are correct, the audio is mono, we just split it for 2 speakers since most machine have two. Maybe I am old but TBH it sounds no different to me using the LCD driver 3.5 out vs the built in amp on the Pandora and just wiring how we did it. We tried to keep it as simple as possible so the average user could wire this up and go.

As an alternative to connecting the Coin 2 button to the Coin mech lead (as shown in the video), you can solder a wire from Coin 2 on the JAMMA harness to your Coin 2 button. This will make the Coin 2 button function as your Pause button on the Pandora's Box 6. Otherwise, you won't have a Pause button.
@diyretroarcade5 жыл бұрын
Yes but you will need to solder to the coin 2 on the jamma. The coin wire now is both piggy backed into the coin1 since with a pandora it does ot mater if coin 1 or 2 is used it all goes to the "bank"
