From Memory, JAMMA means JAPANESE ARCADE MACHINE MANUFACTURER ASSOCIATION. It is basically a standard created so arcades could easily swap machines and boards without the need to constantly change harnesses and buttons and everything else. It made it easier for the coin-operators or coin-ops to operate their arcade business. This however, has lead to other issues in the manufacture of unique arcade boards but still overall it's nice to have that option.

I picked up a Pandoras box CX a while ago, I'm wondering if its possible to enter the Pandoras settings without pressing the button on the actual unit? It's really annoying to get to, as it's loaded into the back of my Jamma cab (I'm using a chamma to jamma adapter) and I'd have to move the whole machine out to get to the back

Depends what version ... ow man it's so a mess. You should look into setting maybe there you can setup 2 controllers. I have the best luck with Pandora Games 3D & Xbox 360 controllers.

If you want to do that your laptop needs to have a input for device beside the hardware itself. When this is not the case you need a capture device future want to make a video about this. On AliExpress there this dongle that only cost 10 dollars that is 1080p 60fps.

Thank you, very helpful video. I wanted to buy a DX to replace my PG3D but you clarified the situation for me. One thing that still bugs me about most of these is that they are 16:9 without aspect ratio settings. I'm still looking for the best 4:3 compatible version. Some of these have 640x480 over VGA or maybe 800x600. I can squish 720p to my monitor but in that case all vertical games are too thin.

You can connect with VGA and HDMI. 😄 720p is the hdmi signal by the way. Did try it on a 4k TV so that also picks up the signal if you want to know that.

I just got one of these for cheap - mine is called the pandora treasure and it’s 3,000+ or so - I bought mine used but new/ weird little machine - mine doesn’t have any ps1 games on here but it does have a fan (it’s loud) and can run snes games and up-to cps3 I think. I have no clue which mine falls on your list - it reminds me of the RS-97 saga all these handhelds with similar but different, like 6 different variations of these! Lol - good video 💙😎🔥👍🏻

Cables are the same only it's possible you need to swap button cable. Check Settings option for this.

Main problem you will face is that 3p and 4p need to work with encoder board ? If so Xbox 360 Encoder is your best shot with that and so far I know only PB3D+, DX and CX work with these controllers.

Pure Interface upgrade and some mainboard changes. Mainboard changes are pure cost effective cut downs no power improvements.

Austar, Pandora Saga 12,14 are mostly 5 / 9 clones. Some do have PS2 fake crappy controller support and minor interface tweaks. If I needed to add all of those in the video this would be a 2 hour Pandora Jungle Adventure 😆 Main problem is with these weird boards.. no where to be found after some time.

So basically, like with Gonbes video converter boards, the Pandora's Box boards, whether "official" or not, can be a mess. Either way they work, but to various degrees of quality. I have a PB 4X(fake) and as far as I'm concerned, so far it does well enough. I did only pay $20 USD for it tho so ... yeah. As always, thank you for your in depth coverage Wicked.

So it's really modern but it's locked to the Chinese language, which really tweaks my nipples. Is there a way to force it to display game names in English? And for gosh sake, turn off that damn pixel smoothing effect!
