Panforte di Siena: Christmas in Tuscany

We fell in love with panforte a few years ago on vacation in Siena. We’ve bought the packaged ones on offer at Christmas in the Italian delis back home in Canada but it’s never the same as the thick fresh gooey slices we had at the cafes in Siena. I’ve made this recipe a few times now, sometimes adding different nuts and fruit and it’s perfect!
