The troll level had spirit. A masterpiece? No. But certainly better than a lot of other attempts. It at least tried to be creative with a few different setups.

You get the helmet in the beginning. You need it to win. So that's why there are no checkpoints. Unless you use the cheese, but the creator didn't know that

I mean wasn't the greatest level. But I think there is merit to having anti's before cp1, because it just makes it easier for people who aren't good at them. Its more there to be funny than actually prevent you from restarting. honestly I think just add indication to the hidden blocks(maybe put fish inside some of them to compensate for them being boring if you have no many "hidden" blocks with nothing in them), and probably (if they know how) make the screen scroll when you fall into the skewer pit to reveal the on/off block(don't think thats a perfect troll, but would be an improvement). I think the ideas were there, and the execution wasn't terrible, just feels like a version 1.0 of a troll level. Needs some polish for sure

I agree but you’re being wayyy too harsh. The level wasn’t the worst thing in the world, just needs ALOT of work. It had a good idea behind it and was better than 90% of the troll levels you find in super expert. Still deserved a boo for all the oversights, but with improvements made it can be a good level

Howdy coming in late. That was my level. I had the hardest time making it, for I couldnt get the on and off switches lined up for certain parts later in the level. Also I believe I had a checkpoint but I removed it. Couldn’t remember why cause I made it a few years ago. I believe you did cheese btw good job 👍 Also sorry for wasting half of your day waiting on stuff to proceed to the next part. I know I do have other troll levels that are a lot better than this one. Thanks for playing my level again.

Feel the hidden on/off was Dev since you can beat it by doing the lap, but the maker didn't want to do a lap.

You'd be forced to hit the coinblock if you tried to jump over the muncher, and you'd probably get the muncher the first way through. The hidden on/off is a bit more unclear though.

So you could keep the original shelmet. When you do the on off then the door to the p-switch you go back in the door and do the on off again then keep shelmet. The extra shelmet was cheese. This would be the speed run tactic.

The muncher dropping vertically IS TELLING YOU WHERE THE HIDDEN BLOCK IS. Same with the obvious hole to drop a bomb down because you JUST got a Link suit. The swapped on/off state from the thwomp as you get recycled through is to allow you to get back through to where the clown car drops down with the swapped state (and the only thing not properly tested). The bob-omb isn't "bugged to not respawn", it's only there to break those blocks, and when the on/off flips it causes it to explode; when you return and it's not there, that's on purpose because the switch is set to ON. The entire theme of the board was to stop and think instead of rushing, simple as that.

You can't assume everyone is going to draw the same conclusion from the same situation. Panga did eventually figure everything out, but does not believe it makes a good troll level. As he said, he doesn't like a troll level with lots of waiting.

Good troll levels, after using a clever troll, are made in such a way that they immediately and clearly show you exactly where and why it went wrong, and what you need to do so that you can speed right through. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the first shellmet can be saved if Panga waits for the bomb in the contraption above to explode to trigger the on/off, allowing him to jump past the spike. He then saves the shellmet until the end without cheese and wins. edit: oop just finished the video LUL

that creator probably put a very long time into making the troll level. “good” levels are not an easy feat. it’s better to appreciate what WAS created if done with time passion and effort, even if it’s flawed. isn’t the end of the world. not boo-worthy this time!

Not saying the troll level was great, definitely too much waiting, but honestly 10% of the way through the level I assumed you'd just wait for that switch instead of losing that shellmet on spikes. Seems pretty straightforward given the swap happens on a timer and the other elements aren't really affected by it changing back so there's no need to rush so long as you enter the room with the right state.
