The reason why you're dying when "coming out" of the clear pipe instead of getting small by the Thwomp is that there is not enough space for Mario to come out, so the game thinks the exit is blocked, and since the other side was blocked as well, you just die.

Thank you for covering 8YMM (8 Years of Mario Maker) levels :). The death in the thumbnail (32:27, _pause there to avoid spoilers)_ was not a squish death / cronch wrap supreme. It was the same death as if you enter a pipe and cannot exit from either end of it (after 2 round trips). But this time, Big Mario was blocked from exiting out the clear pipe with the Thwomp above it, despite him having enough room to crouch into that position (or even as Small Mario). Always love when jank happens

If you liked that troll level, you should probably find more levels from Tuta. They have a style where none of the trolls is super intricate, generally very clean and silly.
