Hey, Pangburn. I like your cuts of these debates. I like these debates. I like these people. I’m an atheist. I don’t like how every video title has to make it sound like a holy, bloody beat-down on a religious person was witnessed and recorded. Just bc it was good for Alex and Dinesh, doesn’t mean every video has to be the same. Please stop. It’s cringe. Thanks.

What an interesting, informative, and thoroughly entertaining conversation. Some REALLY good questions from the audience, too. And of course, excellent answers from Richard and Brian.

The bottom line with religion is the bad outweighs any good.

Brian Greene in a cab praying to nobody in particular for his mom to be ok is fine, hardly a terrible admission as wishful human goofiness goes, but to recount the episode anywhere outside that cab, say on stage in a public debate with Richard Dawkins, as if Greene's little story makes a real point? Not so much. If that's your argument for the utility of faith, religion is in trouble. Even Greene can't keep a straight face.

Also, he lives in constant fear. He can never let go of it. It consumes him because of his childhood trauma caused by his beliefs. I imagine a world w/o religion that version of 'Brain' would be far more successful in scientific achievements. A better world awaits if only religious fanatics didn't equate faith as evidence. Cheers

Greene has a passing interest in theology and his ancestry, pure and simple. ZERO relevance in terms of the scope of religious commitment for billions of people. What a self-centred twunt.

The god theory doesn't really serve as an explanation for the origin of the universe. Some sort of all powerful hide and seek champion of the universe snapped his fingers, uttered the magic words and suddenly out of nowhere conjured up a universe from nothing. Now that's a theory that's as devoid of explanatory content as it gets.

You are the one playing hide and seek. "Be still and know that I am God." Psalm 46.10 NIV Find out why the still mind is the big no-go zone for thought.

Could this dude specify _which_ religion? Without it the subject is just too general.

This is what cultists do, when they go against other cultists they be like "my cult is the best cult, it's the only true cult", when going against non cultists "cults are good, cults are amazing", go on and join a cult other than their cult "you joined the wrong cult", bunch of dishonest manipulative clowns ..

Who is "This dude"? And if you're talking about Richard Dawkins, then it doesn't matter. Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, whatever, it doesn't matter. Scientifically speaking, they are wrong.

cherry pick is a great analogy because that's what ALL religions do. In FACT, you all defend cherry picking as a reason? yeah, you all do..... can't you all see through your bs?
