I was dying to see this car's rolling chassis. I have scoured the internet for 3 hours in hopes of seeing one. I finally found your video and watched patiently. When the opportunity came and I saw that you had actually removed the body from the frame I was elated. I could literally hear my own heartbeat. But alas, .....in your wisdom, you decided to skip that very crucial image. You showed the body frame restored and just skipped to the marriage of the body and the chassis. No single shot of the chassis!! I am heartbroken. What a shame! 😥😥😥😥😥

I think that you must be referring to the separation of the front subframe assembly from the body/chassis. Rejoining these two items was not easy as the two locating lugs of the chassis had closed slightly after two years. I used a hydraulic ram to ease these apart before the subframe could slide back into place. It was a tense and difficult moment, and I apologise for not filming the operation. A friend had a similar experience with his 24 CT.

@@alancourtenay2475, thanks for the response. I guess this means the Panhard used a monocoque body frame with front sub-assembly? For whatever reason, I was convinced it had a separate rolling chassis like the 2CV (body on frame). I guess I was wrong. It explains why I was never able to find an image of a rolling chassis. Thanks for the education.

@@TheMidasMD I believe that the Dyna X and Junior had a separate steel chassis with aluminium body, whereas the later Dyna Z and PL 17 used a unitary bodyshell with separate subframe at the front to carry the engine and transmission. The 24 body incorporated a massive steel tubular chassis (88mm diameter tubes) integral to the body. As Panhard considered themselves as inventor of the car, they were reluctant to adopt features or designs of other manufacturers, and the singular character of these cars has a great appeal to a small number of fans, but almost certainly led to their demise.

@@TheMidasMD Talking of 2CVs, there was a prototype 24 mounted on a modified 2CV chassis and fitted with a Maserati V6, but it never went into production!

@@alancourtenay2475 , I searched until I found images of the prototype. It was not mounted on modified 2CV chassis. No! Guess what it was mounted on? It was actually mounted on DS Chassis!! The nose had to be elongated for the Chassis and V6 to fit. I am looking at it right now! I will place link.
