April 2, 2023. Event produced by United Coalition to Protect Panhe and San Onofre State Parks Foundation in partnership with California State Parks. Festival held annually at the site of the ~9,600 year old Native American village in honor of ancestors and ethnohistory.
Performers included musicians, dancers, and singers. Prayers and blessing by Native American and Hawaiian tribal members. Tribute and recognition of tribal elders. Displays included food and vendor booths, Native American crafts, cultural organizations, basketweaving and more. Master of Ceremonies: Capitan Melvin Vernon (Payómkawichum/Luiseño) and Jacque Nunez (Acjachemen/Juaneño).
