Confession: I'm 70 and had never heard of Panic! or Brendan, until I saw a cover of "Emperor's New Clothes" by The Bass Gang and went to check out the original. And promptly became addicted. And then saw VoicePlay's "Panic! At The Disco in Four Minutes (Parts 1 and 2) and became even MORE addicted. So over the last few months I've been binging on a number of Panic! videos. So ... I was rather excited to see a new album, and I've now watched a number of "official videos" (not all, not yet) and hands down, this one startled me the most. And I had to google translate a few lines after the fact. Now that I have some idea what's going on I'll watch it again and hope I can follow it - it's INCREDIBLY fast-moving. I don't understand the people who say Brendan has "lost it," or other negative comments. Of course not everyone likes every song - and that's ok. But the man has some very talented chops and I love his stuff.

And what's with the guy in the far left during the opening scene? I can't see him too clearly but he appears to be wearing shorts along with very modern socks and shoes..., along with a fancy shirt and hat. Not to mention at least two women wearing panniers but not, apparently the skirts that are supposed to go over them. Someone was having fun in the costume department. :D Weird. ETA: I'm not even going to address the guy wearing the halter top... Let's just say ... no, never mind.

anyone who thinks brendon urie is a bad person just read that on tik tok or twitter. has he said some dumb shit in the past? absolutely, haven’t we all tho. he apologized and learned from his mistakes. the problem with cancel culture is people want to exile you from humanity because of your past and you’re not allowed to try to become a better person. the bullying on tik tok and twitter is fucking sad, people who have nothing better to do then try to make themselves feel better by putting brendon down.

With the news of the band's end this album really takes on a new life about the struggles that Brendon has been going through. It really foreshadows the end of Panic. It's revolting the amount of hate he has received on tiktok and twitter in recent years and I think he's trying to protect his family by moving away from it all. Hopefully he will return to music in later years and by then the tiktok teenies will have developed a brain and leave him alone. Also, sad clown is 100% about the bullying he received and how he's expected to just make music and keep smiling despite dying on this inside. It all makes so much sense now...

The moment he continued to support someone who was very publicly canceled for unforgivable things to his own fans, he made that choice to jeopardize the public perception of his life and his family. This album is so slept on. Watch in like a few years when everyone “rediscovers” it and acts like they loved it from the beginning. I think this album gets better with age. It’s reminiscent of 79s & 80s and music around those times. I wasn’t a massive fan of most of the album on release but after listening to each song a few times and getting the rhythm I love them. Their unique. And he did always say he’d shake it up. Fever and Death of a bachelor are still my tops but VLV hits in such a unique and fun way. It’s not taking itself to seriously, it’s just a fun collective of songs. Say it louder, don’t let the light go out, god killed rock and roll, sugar soaker and something about Maggie r awesome

Well. Having only heard a handful of tracks by P!ATD I really didn't know what to expect. After hearing 'Don't let the light go out' on the radio, I decided to check out the album 'Viva Las Vengeance'. I'm an Iron Maiden fanatic with a heavy love of The Darkness, Muse and Volbeat and I've got to say Viva Las Vengeance has floored me. Compared to the earlier stuff, I've been compelled to listen to the entire back catalogue, the vocals are what seems to be a different vocalist, tapping an unused region of the vocal range and unravelling the next evolutionary step in Male Vocal. The harmony layering is blissful, the energy is chaotic yet controlled and the arrangements are simply astonishing. How can the band go from writing 'I write sins not tragedies' to writing this?? It's unfathomable. I'm absolutely breathless. There's obviously an incredible band in the early works but if you were to go back in time and play 'Viva' to early P!ATD would they even believe it was them? Sadly, I've got a feeling that this is going to go way over the heads of the average music listener and that's a real shame but it's totally their loss. I'm happy that I've found them and they're all mine. And maybe a few million like minded people can have them too. 😉

So so so so so agree. The ambition and musicianship of this makes it one of the most exciting and daring major act releases in forever. I mean this single alone is BONKERS and yet a lot of aging emo fans claiming they love the artist but demanding the same nostalgic fare album after album to remind them of their youth is predictably sad. The sheer joy for making music and art you can feel radiating off this record is immense! I really hope he just keeps going for broke. The evolution of his talent on this record is immense!

Absolutely ADORING this new album. Listened to it in entirety last night and it's what I wish every album was; A collection of snippets of feelings and moments that tell an overarching story. Panic! has done it with this album and then some - the clear progression of musical genres and eras throughout the album double down on the journey of one's life. It turns a realistic eye on the past that while nostalgic, isn't rose-tinted, and then delves into the present and the pitfalls and struggles of trying not to repeat mistakes. I love how the sound dredges up older Panic!'s sound and mixes it with the voices of each era the songs tumble through (Meatloaf, Queen, Bowie, etc.) all the while layering on top the theme of the artist struggling for the sake of and at the hands of their art. 100% not what I expected for this album (was totally thinking it would be a similar vibe and style as the last two) but very much happily surprised!

@Ibam3232 жыл бұрын
Lol, your kidding me right? A Fever You Can't Sweat had way tougher vocal demands. Almost every song had him doing intense falsetto in high octaves and then use his head vocals. I promise you this dude can comfortably sing his entire range for long periods of time at no cost to him or difficulty.
@Ibam3232 жыл бұрын
His only issue is he sings in his lower range by lowering his Larynx which causes his chest voice to get raspy at times and comes off like he is belting rather than singing. Which could naturally damage your vocals and locks off his natural vibrato.
@Syller772 жыл бұрын
@@Ibam323 then again, he still had fresh baby boy teen vocals. Im sure as with all people his voice deepened alot. Imo compared to now, he sounded like a very handsome squeeky toy. And my boy does like to abuse him poor vocals

He is amazing...I don't understand why he is so underrated😢
@user-sz4ci9lj9s Жыл бұрын
Underrated? were you possibly born after like 2008 lol? PATD has been VERY popular for a VERY long time. You couldn't escape "I Write Sins Not Tragedies" for the life of you on radio or TV back when it first aired, and even when they did a 180 right after with their Beatles-inspired "Pretty Odd", they were still immensely successful. Even after all the original members left, PATD became even more well known lol (maybe not as creative after Ryan and Jon left, but it didn't matter for their popularity). Brendon made this last album more for himself than anything and that's why it seems a bit less mainstream than his last few albums and has less views. Still, it doesn't matter at this point because he had enough of being in the limelight and is retired now anyway. This was a farewell album where he wanted to just enjoy the process of making his own, weird, quirky, and fun music, regardless if anything would top the charts.

I'm 30. Grew up with them. They never got the same hype, recognition, awards, views, etc as some bigger names around the same time, like Green Day or Blink 182.
@user-sz4ci9lj9s Жыл бұрын
Also, the wear and tear on his voice, especially during the last tear, had been showing. He was pretty awful during his last tour lol.This needed to be the end for PATD unless they pull some reunion together with all the old members in 10 years.
@user-sz4ci9lj9s Жыл бұрын
@@RocaNation365 I mean, they were popular for way longer than either of those examples lol. No one has given a shit about Greenday for 15+ years and Blink 182 the same, but high hopes has like 800 mill views now and played everywhere just 5 years ago. About the awards, they don't really mean shit in music lol. It's not like winning a sports championship.
