I have panic attacks often and this is a really good video. I’m not sure if it’s for anyone else but what helps calms me down is going someplace without people and listening to music very loud and closing my eyes. Focusing on the lyrics and trying to sing them helps a lot. Even when I’m not having a panic attack and I’m just very stress or anxious I hum random songs.

I have panic attacks which mostly occur in school. I think this is because of the stress of exams on top of dysphoria and general low self-esteem which is really difficult to deal with. The teachers have been told to let me leave if necessary (which I guess is an unwritten rule for everyone) but it’s really good for me to do that because I don’t want everyone staring at me and asking me what’s wrong

My panic attacks don’t always have triggers. Some do, like stress and things like that, others just happen out of the blue. They’re the worst, if I’m honest. I love this video, it gave me some good tips regarding what I can do. Thank you

This was so helpful! I’d never had a panic attack before when I first watched it, but social and health related stuff has made them very frequent lately. I always just try to remember back to this video when I’m trying to calm down, and it really helps. Thank you for making this video!

I don't know how to explain how I experience panic attacks. Like they don't necessarily mean hyperventilating or crying. I shake, I may cry depending on the intensity, chest pain and tightness of breath. I still get them frequently but not as bad as I was maybe last year.

For people that struggle with this a lot; I suggest looking up the app "what's up?". It's for on phones, tablets, that kinda stuff, and has everything from grounding techniques to just information to places where you can reach out to talk to someone. It's free (unless you want the upgraded version) and runs on donations and good wishes. I strongly advise looking it up:)

When I get a panic attack/sensory overload (not sure which it is), it normally consists of me shouting, yelling, rambling and finding things to do. People make me frustrated and I can't take people talking or just interacting with me. Sadly, my sisters and father don't really care about my mental health. So no one can help me:( Thanks for these tips!

One thing I don't like about having panic attacks is that when it happens around my friends (who I don't hang out with anymore) they always are like "oh get over yourself you're just overreacting" before actually doing something like no my chest is tight and it hurts and I can barely breathe I feel like I'm drowning without being in water a bit I'm not overreacting Edit: also when I have a panic attack I hear everything and I mean *everything*

i had a panic attack in the middle of my chemistry lesson today and i've been a bit shaken up all day, you picked a really good day to upload this video for me ahaha also focusing on my breathing makes my hyperventilating worse for me because i get so panicked about my breathing anyway so being more aware of that makes it worse and i generally try and avoid breathing stuff in panic attacks, idk if that's a common thing but that's how it is for me

Me..... I have generalized anxiety disorder so I'm anxious 24/7. I get intense panic attacks a few times a month. I cry and get nervous and feel like the world is gonna end and I'm gonna die. It's not fun.

Whenever I have an anxiety attack I start hyperventilating and crying. The best thing to do for me is be left alone unless I stop breathing. I’m sorry you have to suffer from those awful things. :(

One problem I get when I have panic attacks is I can't breathe. It literally feels like someone put a pillow over my mouth and nose and I physically can't breathe. Also, my sense of touch mostly shuts down and my hearing gets really loud.

When I'm having a panic attack, i feel like everything is closing in and cant breathe. Along with that i start crying and i cover my face and scratch my skin and clothes

One thing that’s really hard for me when is when I’m told to do breathing exercises. When I do stuff like that I become hyper aware of my breathing And start to hyperventilate so when people tell me to just take a deep breath it’s kind of more complicated than that and can end up making a bigger problem.I was in a DBT group when I was in a day program and I was trying to explain to the person running the group why I can’t practice deep breathing and she got mad at me and I felt really bad. Hopefully it’s not like that for most people!

i haven't heard of that before, but that definitely makes sense and i'm sure you aren't alone! try to find other things that work for you that don't involve breathing. you got this

Question: Do you think the look for things, touch things, smell things, taste things help with depressive episodes, because when I'm depressed I don't feel like any things real and I feel dead, do you think it would help "wake me up" and just make me more aware of my surroundings?
@cloudy88407 жыл бұрын
Sometimes when I find myself in this situation. Usually 3-4 periods of the year heh But, something that helps me be more aware is nature. I know it sounds silly but if you can, sit outside. Think about the grass under you, the air patterns. Ext. also, no depressing music. Heh, a bit of a guilty (pleasure?) for lack of a better word. Try listening to something in the same genre but with lighter subjects and tones. I notice that it helps a lot. Also, spend time with your furry friends. Seriously, their natural stress relievers. Spend time with them. I hope that soon you'll find yourself in a better situation. Stay strong 🖤

Here is a method that I thought I would post here that you can try out to see if it helps you to cope with panic attacks & seeing as that was one of the main topics that Ashton was addressing I will post the first KZbin link as the one you are to turn to if you are struggling with panic attacks specifically: m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/kJa8nHyqpbKepbM However if you are just trying to cope with your typical everyday anxiety, fears and stressful situations or you fear that something bad might happen to you during the day or you are afraid you won’t be able to cope with a stressful situation (these 2 topics are the biggest highlights of my anxiety & fears so is being made fun of or teased or being criticized or social fears or new or old experiences that I either have or haven’t yet experienced for myself cause me to be nervous in the past or even discussing my fears with others or fear of being ridiculed & for me when I was in middle school usually fears and stress & fears & heightened anxiety over classmates making fun of me usually always equaled nausea) 🤮 😦 and this still goes on to this very day however if you are generally experiencing any of the above or similar please turn to this link: m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/sKnOaJaMhaqCjtk ...My mom used to take this approach for trying to help me cope with my anxiety & sometimes it worked & sometimes it didn’t! However I really hope that this method results in at least helping you get some relief and calmness in your daily lives! 🙂

I keep getting them during cross country at my school (or at least I think that's what they are, I do have something similar other times too so I think that is what they are) my breath gets really jumpy and I start sweating, shaking, crying getting hot/ cold and dizzy. I can't have anything with me and I do try and do breathing exercises but because I have to go from running to calming down for as short amount of time as possible before running again. I'm really not sure what to do about it, I haven't ever been diagnosed with a anxiety disorder so I can't site it as a genuine reason. Do you have any tips?

I want to come out to my family but they think trans are still their birth gender and shouldn't be called their preferred name/pronoun until they get surgery and t. They say they're accepting of it but as soon as a trans person asks to be called something else they get mad. How should I explain why I want to be called he/him?? Please help

Piperr Piper That's really tough- i wanna say come out if you think you're safe in your home first off- bc my parents had a lot of mostly internalized but also normal homophobia when i came out as gay - you have i give them time to get used to it bc it's gonna be weird! but hopefully if they keep an open mind you will see them grow to be more loving and accepting and tolerant which is a really cool thing! it will get frustrating sometimes but i believe in you!!
