This is incredible, that same pilot was also the pilot on another air disaster and also the aircrash investigator for another catastrophic crash. Trippy.

The Boeing 747 will forever remain the queen of the skies and my favorite aircraft I would also like to say that the airbus A380 is a beautiful modern aircraft and she’s a favorite of mine but the 747 is my absolute favorite. Now as far as a helicopter the Huey is my absolute favorite every time I see one or get on one fortunate son plays in my head

Dude like 90% of aircrash investigation that i’ve watched involves Boeing aircraft. And i’m telling you i’ve watched plenty of these documents. Yet you still love em? Smh Airbus is the safest manufacturer of aircraft ever

Well from what I know is that the people weren't moving and panicking like that. The G forces are so strong u can move your arms open ur mouth can't do anything. In Why Planes Crash the investigator explains that the forces were so strong it was complete silence

What happened to the light on the end of the wing? The passenger mentioned it, and then it's never brought up in the investigation.

It's 747SP. Double hinged tail section, is it's design. I think, it's the reason, any structural failure not happened in this incident. If it's usual 747, something happened catastrophically like Japan Airlines Flight 123.

The problem was human fixation on the engine problem. They were told engine four had a minor problem. When Engine 4 begin to fail every human eye in the cabin was focused on engine 4. Every problem in their minds was caused by engine 4. And as they were trying to figure out what was wrong with the engine and how was it affecting the plane, the crew never realized their mistakes. The engine is doing this but how? It is very likely that the fact that the cap didn't know that the auto pilot isn't capable of recovering a plane contributed with their belief that the eng 4 was causing the problems. The autopilot was keeping the plane level and slowly the plane was banking to the right, but when the cap took control of the plane everything the autopilot was doing reset it and the plane violently without control now began to dive. They blame the engine for everything that was going on. And even if they knew all the things they did wrong the human brain is so fixating in that moment on known problem that it is hard to see the obvious. I know if I leave oil on a pan, after a few minutes it will burn. After that the house will smell horrible. The smoke is going to activate the alarm, yet I totally forgot about the pan because my solar panel wasn't working and I needed to know why, only when the smoke alarm when off I realized my mistake. To avoid this kind of problems a mandatory check list should be done when a faulty instrument is found. In fact, nobody but the enginner should look into the problem. Cap's attention should alway be on flying the plane.

Kind of like the Eastern Airlines flight that crashed in the Everglades. All 3 of the flight crew were fixated on a light bulb and didn't realize they had bumped the autopilot off and that they were descending until they were at 900 ft and crashing. There was only a very soft, single chime that indicated the autopilot had been disengaged and they didn't hear it. It's unreal how something so trivial can cause 3 very experienced pilots to crash
@brigidtheirish Жыл бұрын
It makes sense that they'd fixate on it, though, since it *was* an active problem. When there's a known problem, it's natural to assume subsequent problems are a result of it, not think that something else has gone wrong.

It sure seems to me that this happens often enough with pilots internationally, that there should be a way to preempt the behavior. I’ve been watching these show often enough to see that for some reason the pilot or entire crew becomes hyper focused on my ne issue with no one minding the entire store. Because it does happen enough, shouldn’t they modify training? Since it often results in a whole plane load of. Death without a trace or very little trace.

Classic spiral dive in IMC. The solution is not difficult. Do NOT pull back. "Power back to idle to reduce rate of descent. Level wings using Artificial Horizon. NOW, pull hard and hope. When little bird well into the blue, full power and trim." CAVU skies!

As a rule, people in the hold of dictatorships don't have much personal initiative, and acting on own is somewhat of a death wish. Unfortunately, a solution from Central Committee would never come in time.

Exactly. It's one of the problems Germany had during WWII. If a German military unit got lost with no way of contacting the larger force, they'd sit where they were until someone found them. Meanwhile, an American troop that got lost took out their compasses, figured Berlin was roughly "that way" and started marching.

I'm sorry, but you're not a hero for saving lives if you were the very one who was at fault for putting their lives in jeopardy in the first place. The pilot was careless & caused 2 dozen injuries, 2 serious, some to have to live with trauma for the rest of their lives, & damage costs of the plane. The pilot & cockpit crew are very fortunate to not be reprimanded in any way for their negligence.
