I don't think you actually need to pause your diesel power, the other power is automatically prioritized and the diesel generators can stay connected as a backup if the other power plant fails for some reason.

pausing the diesel removes the worker consumption so you can use the workers elsewhere.

I think I read somewhere that pausing them also reduced the maintenance they consume.

Yea, that map has little oil in your starting spot. There is a lot in the crater but that's as good as not existing for the effort to get to it. Lucky for me, I was just about to start the offshore oil when mine ran out.

For the dumping of products, waste and rocks and such. I my self found that a "Mine Control Tower" (not a Mind Control Tower :P ) controlling the dumping site helped out alot. I connected the Primary tower to the trashing tower and it sorted out my back log of stuff real quick.

This game's environment is surrounded by water, and I am not seeing developer utilizing that as an advantage - No, one giant ship isn't enough. Not even close! What we COULD have, is a bunch of smaller ships helping the trucks doing "offshore" cargo trips, so we don't need to waste our damn time building land bridges all over the place. Also, offshore oil rigs will be such a nice thing to have - not the ones outside playable area, I want one IN the playable zone where we can actually ship stuff to build and see it operates.

Haven't played this game yet, but curious, is it worthwhile to force the trucks to drive over the pavement when possible to save maintenance costs? A lot of trucks seem to drive parallel to the road instead of on it.

Roads where just introduced with this most recent update. In order to force them, you'd have to build lots of concrete barriers. The trucks will always find the shortest path, so there will be lots of manipulation to "force" them.

@@phpnotasp or as a free alternative, they dont drive thru ghosts, so have paused ghost pipes/belts for barriers

So, the pavement feature that was just released wasn't meant to be used as roads. The devs have said they're still working on a separate feature for roads (hopefully later this year) . Until then, if we want to use these as roads, it's going to be a bit janky.

I think they are only available on Discord if you are on Patreon. The older ones, for the most part work fine in the Early game and were available online. I think the older links to the layout Diagrams were deleted.

The oil rig has only 60% because you are playing on admiral difficulty. All the map ressources are going to be like this.
