What I like about your content most is watching your approach to a game. I don't think I learn all that much either watching someone fail or watching someone stamp down perfect blueprints that have hours of optimization poured into them. I play these games for the challenge of figuring things out so what I personally find most valuable is listening to you describe your thought process when a challenging situation comes up. Whether I agree or not, it's thought provoking and is far more valuable than watching someone fail or magically provide a cut and paste solution.

I just started watching you, i think maybe i saw a video or two about another game or two, but you need to not worry about having interesting moments planned out, they just happen organically because you're human.

I agree with comments on stay effective. But I think given your mastery it would be fun to see some bigger challenges like making the road out of gold, establishing a science island, or putting your beacon on top of a stepped pyramid. Alternatively you could artificially increase the difficulty through the forcing constant use of powerful citizen unity passives. Make them like extra demanding.

Regarding your approach to the panic moments and so on, I really like the fact that you are genuine. Let me explain. There are some times when you watch some youtubers play any game, and you see they are doing something blatantly wrong, and you know that they know, and that they are doing only to trigger your comments and generate engagement in their videos. I've seen this in all kinds of games, mind you, not just factory games. You, on the other hand, know what you do and are not willing to compromise on that. This makes you genuine, as I mentioned before, and I take it as a sign of respect for your viewers. That is one of the many reasons I keep watching your videos.

I think first, people need to define what playing badly means; Nilaus' designs are looking pretty, but waste a ton of space, for example. Is it bad gameplay? Might or might not be, but it's still fun to watch and that's the important bit in KZbin videos.

I like how intuitive your content is, not just mistakes for mistakes' sake. In this COI playthrough, we've gotten to see how problems can arise (oil shortage, for example) due to the build you've made - and then how to correct it. And you've framed it well! "Because I did [thing] then [problem] has happened, and now I'm going to start on [solution]." I think that's much better for your YT content than those 'oh no' moments. Similar to how you filter out the bomb drops and design processes for factorio. I say, if people want raw reactions to situations, they can hop over to Twitch when you're live like I do from time to time. ^^

i've watched through multiple playthroughs of dyson sphere, lots of factorio, and having captain of industry here has been super exciting to keep up with! i can promise that if you keep going on this playthrough, i will not be losing any interest in it haha

In terms of "oh noes" & "how to recover", I prefer the format where a video takes on a messed up save file & try to fix it. I've seen a few for Civ 6 & Oxygen not included. I'm sure I'd enjoy seeing you do this for Factorio/Dyson/Captain of industry but if it's not your style it's fine too. I mostly watch for inspiration or stuff that I might have missed.

I was watching a KZbinr play this game and it was painful to watch. He kept going sideways instead of progressing in the game. I got really annoyed with his gameplay and might have said some choice words but don't regret them. Your playthrough however Is much better because while there may be problems at least you are trying to finish the game instead of artificially making the game last longer by just building more and more basic builds. Keep up the good work.

In the real world, you can't have your brine near your intake as it would reduce the efficiency of the desalination. Hopefully they don't have that level of realism!

I actually cringe at lets play of people that do not know what to do and make silly mistakes, because most of the time they simply don't read how something is supposed to work or do not care to think about it for more than 2 seconds. I am here because you always try to play at the peak of your abilities and that is very appealing.

The excavators don't fit under a 2-high bus - I learned that the hard way when they have to drive all the way around. Maybe they fit under 3-high and that is why he did it - I haven't tested personally yet.

To each their own, but I don't experience schadenfreude from lets plays. I don't want to watch people play poorly any more than I enjoy those mobile ads where they play bad on purpose. I personally tend to stop watching as soon as a lets play goes awry. Maybe it all equals out.
