Quite disheartening to find people still throwing insults over whose culture's better. Seeing some Thai-Cambodian dispute here reminds me of silly similar dispute between Indonesians and Malaysians. Cultures are influencing each other. While it's true that Panji/Inao stories were originated in East Java, the fact that it inspires people across all of SE Asia is a strong testament of the power of culture (and stories, in this particular case). One can just browse the other videos in this channel to see that these beautiful performances were done in a collaborative spirit, to exchange and to get to know each other, and in this case, using a common story that SE Asian people know about.

It's silly because Cambodia learnt dancing in Thailand and claimed that it was Thier ancient dancing.

I agree with your statement. But it’s mostly Thais nationalists that attacked/claiming things from Cambodia first. It started with the Preah Vihear that’s in Cambodia. Thais were saying it belongs to them which is not true. They think because of the Khmer Rouge that we have no more culture. They think we all died or something. We were trying to defend ourselves in the beginning but nowadays it became nasty with both Thais and Khmers saying this and that and keep going back and forth. It’s embarrassing and exhausting from both sides. We never claimed anything from Thai back then. We look at them as brothers and sisters before and how similar our culture is until Thai start claiming that’s when all this war on whose culture it belongs to when clearly we know who. If you really take a close look at the performance in a blink, it looks very similar. But if you look closely, you can definitely tell the difference. Yes thai production is a lot better but the performance and movement are not the same. Each hand movement from Cambodian performance has a meaning as of Thai hand movement doesn’t have any meaning. Wish all of these comments would stop and to get along but it’s not going to happen anytime soon.
Play fast, anything Thai is soft, but it will break into 1 hard dressing, not much hardness,2 dance soft, dance to life, not too soft, not too hard.3 Can easily recognize emotions, Khmer should study before speaking, you idiot.
Oh... I very....very love, like, and need these. I am pretty happy to see them. I want you to post more and more. Thaink you!:-*

I must tell you about the true thing. This drama is about the history of Java in Indonesia. And Princess makko the daughter of King Baramakok makes this story from the words of her Indonesian servants from southern Thailand but after the fall of Ayutthaya. The Burmese army takes her to the royal palace of Inwa. And also she telling the story to Burmese court and Myanmar is a show about this as well. But they call it “Dancing from Ayutthaya”. And after fall of kingdom King Rama 1 wants to restore the culture of Ayutthaya. In the new capital of Bangkok and also,he rewrite the drama of this story again. And the drama it’s we watching today is the rewrite again by king Rama 2 and it’s one of the best of Thai classic drama. For Cambodia this country was a colony of Siam ( Thailand today ) 300 years. And King Norodom of Cambodia spent many decades in exile in Bangkok. And he makes his coronation in the temple next to Grand Palace. And Thailand appointed him to return to Cambodia after eliminating Vietnamese influence on Cambodia. And the king can speak thai language very well.But he’s not good in Khmer language. First, The Thai Royal Court sets all regulations in the Cambodian Royal Court. Second, Colonies could not have their own repertoire. Many times the Lao court had tried to have their own performance and had been warned off. If it can be done, it is because it has received permission from the Thai King. Third,King Norodom was the adopted son of King Rama IV. make Rama IV Allowing the Cambodian royal court to stage its own dramas. This was a very high honor given to the colony. Four, King Rama IV sent many drama teachers to train at the Cambodian court. Many are princesses in the Thai royal family. Some of them became concubines of King Norodom. Last,Cambodian dance is heavily influenced by Thai dance. It's even too much. Until the mother of King Norodom Sihanouk had to cooperate with Princess Norodom Bupphadevi, the king's daughter, to eradicate the influence of Thai dance. But it has not been successful until today.
aun2553 why Thai people also like this when see Cambodian dance also say copy copy all time what the happen to you Thailand? JEALOUS?You also act like this all time when all of you see Khmer dance on KZbin what do you think ? You think you that it good for your country? Want to show you low knowledge to the world? If you do like it will make Cambodian to look down on your country than look up.

@@bo-story3860 . Your country should give credit to Thailand. It will not be controversial. If Khmer speak the truth, the traditional Khmer dance is derived from Siamese people.
@crew2 жыл бұрын
@@aun2553 It should be the other way around. The cradle of Hindu civilization in peninsular Southeast Asia is hugely derived from the Khmer people. A lot of the dances and mythologies that are performed in Thailand are renditions of Hindu mythology which the Siamese/Thai people were never a part of. Khmer people were Hindu people and the hardwork and creations were adopted my the Siamese/Thai people when they started their early civilization which was after the Khmer people. Propaganda and nationalism/Thaiification of ethnic people (Chinese and ethnic Khmer, Lao people) in Thailand by their government explains why there are people like you that grew up believing that his culture originally belongs to you. But that is not what scholars around the world discovered. There is no such thing as this make believe ancient people called “Khom” nor that the Siamese people were even originally from Thailand. The homeland of the Thai people are originally from Yunnan, China where your ancestors still exist under Chinese rule. So you can’t just tell Khmer people to abandone their own culture. What other culture are they supposed to connect with if not the culture of where they came from.

Khmer now a day are not came from Khom Angkor. Almost of their culture lost after Angkor Wat was destroy. They transfered to many capital city. Siam occupied Cambodia more than 400 years this why Cambodia culture was influenced by Siam. During Pol Pot regime, Pol Pot killed artists, Khon, Rabam and Lakon and left a few of them alived. Princess Buppa Devi accepted Kru Thai went to help Khmer trained and revived Khon, Lakon and Rabam. From now on, Thai might not train any art to Khmer. They are ungrateful behavior people since the ancient time and up to the present.

Tiki Taka : you are really very blurred about you thai people. Sometimes you thai people said you are influenced by Indian culture and now you said thai derived from java and Khmer from thai? So sad that you are not even sure about yourself. Thai is always paired together with Siam. Nothing else. Thai means the free so Siamese means the opposite of Thai. One never change the name of its country if the name is not the topic of sensitive issue. So Siam is the issue that's why it is changed to Thai.

Tiki Taka no need to say anything about whether we copy you or you copy cambodia. Let wait and see Lakhon Khol. If UNESCO decides to include it into intangible property of humanity as Requested by Cambodia, you thai people are done. You don't need to claim anything. In fact Cambodian classical dance or royal ballet of Cambodia was already included as intangible heritage property of humanity and Lakhon Khol is one of the royal ballets so you don't need to claim anything.
