These guys are my favorite metal band of all time. The amount of talent these guys had, is to the amount that I don't think will be seen again. They didn't even get their big break until this record, and they had 4 previous records before Cowboys from Hell. Dimebag Darrell had riffs that made you throw your neck out and groove at the same time. He was one of the best metal guitarists, Rex Brown on bass, and Vinnie Paul on drums, were the glue that held the groove together. But once they recruited Phil Anselmo on vocals, thats when their image changed to what this record was. They released 3 more amazing records after this.

These are the four most talented guys to ever stand on a stage together. Ive seen 100s of live shows and these guys could play circles around everyone. They could play any genre of music they wanted to play. Some of the biggest bands on the planet have admitted to being BLOWN OFF STAGE by Pantera Live. Bands that were around a decade *BEFORE* Pantera were clearly influenced by Pantera. This band was a musical Phenomenon and their accomplishments in the music industry are unmatched. Pantera had a #1 album simultaneously in multiple countries before they had a "hit" song. Think about that. Radio hated them, MTV hates them meanwhile they were selling out arenas worldwide playing a genre of music that gets NO support. I saw them sell out the same NBA stadium twice in 90 days and the radio completely ignored them. Their song 'Revolution Is My Name' shattered a record for FAN call-in votes on the radio and once the contest was over i never heard that song again. Literally in 20 years. Never. Despite it being a grammy nominated song off a GOLD top 5 album.
