The Great Southern Trendkill used to be my favorite album together with Far Beyond Driven. But in later years I have found that Re-inventing The Steel is my absolute favorite Pantera album. It was so focused and so directed to the fans and the band. Songs like Revolution, You've Got To Belong To It, We'll Grind That Axe and I'll Cast A Shadow just tells the whole story of Pantera. Don't get me wrong, I love The Great Southern Trendkill but Re-inventing The Steel is unique in metal. Such a fine metal experience

Phil Anselmo is the real deal. You can really tell he is a very big music fan himself. He's not just doing his music for a job. He loves music. And he is right, getting older sucks because what once was a somewhat perfect existance is no longer and that existance will no longer be. I think that is actually why many people get stuck in addiction, trying to recapture that existance and that time of being and place. Well it will not become a reality, you can not recapture and live the past. It may feel like it for a moment but then reality will set in. Anyway, Phil you rock! Seen him in concert once in Stockholm, Sweden in 2008 I think.

Overcoming...the addiction 😂...meanwhile Phil is high as a kite in this interview. Its crazy how naive' people are to drugs and what it looks like when somebody is on them. Thank god Phil is off the shit today...as well as I myself, although I am on methadone now (something Phil has called more evil than heroin itself, which I can agree with). But Phil was lying through his teeth saying that he only got high twice after OD'ing. I get it though, I have done the same exact thing...its embarrassing to admit, I still love the guy and his music and lyrics have gotten me through some of the worst times of my life.
@terraincognita96146 жыл бұрын
Same. Some people do well on methadone, but a lot of people dont. I'm on subs myself, and while they're no solution to the problem, in comparison with liquid handcuffs (methadone) I think suboxone is a lesser of 2 evils. Suboxone/subutex wasn't around when this interview was recorded tho
