Pantera has been a special influence on me for so many reasons one being the reason I’ve been playing guitar for 22 years, another is their attitude as people being as real as can be, not putting up with any shit, Dimes party personality and the joy he brought to us. would you happen to have one from louisville KY in january of 1998? I am desperatly looking for video of that show. we met them before the show and partied before during and after the show with them and anthrax. got hooked up with passes and ended up on the tour buss drinking for an hour before the venue even opened. we had made a huge banner to hold up during the show in hopes of them signing it and we spotted bobby tongs getting on a tour bus so we just held the banner up in plain view of the bus and a minute later scott inn dime vinnie and rex are getting off the bus walking over. they were in love with it. dime went and got a camera and started taking pictures and asked if we were bringing it in the show and we said yea and he hooked us up with a half dozen passes and told big val no matter what these guys are parting with us any where they wana go during the show side stage what ever they are cool. well we never left the bus and ended up just chilling and drinking and when it was time to go inside we just went inside with them. at one point during the show dime and phil stopped everything and told the audince they had something for them to see and we were right down in the front in the pit and phil got big val to get the banner from us and and pass it up to him and he and dime started unfolding it and it was so damn huge it went from one of vinnies kicks to the other and down to the floor and they hung it up there. our names were on it and a bunch of art work we did. I had several friends at the show cause it was so close to home up in the seats and they could read our names and that next day my phone was ringing off the hook with people just like how did you do that, lol. we just wanted it autographed in the begining but after the show dime and phil folded it up and made their way off stage dime asked me if he could have it. what could i say. he was like bro this is sick i wana hang it up at home can i please have it. and he just smiled and handed me a coors light and i was like I better see that shit on a home video and he said fuck yea and he spread it out and all four of them and anthrax were still being blown away noticing little details. he folded it back up and dime held it close by his side all nite. after hours went by and the venue had shut down the normal backstage event area and the roadies were packing shit up but big val told the event staff we were with them and we can stay so we did and a couple hours went by and eventually it was just me, my brother, dimebag, and scott inn sitting on a busted up old pile of gym mats passing around a bottle of whatever the hell was in that bottle i cant remember if scott was drinking cause he seemed to be the voice of reason thru the nite everytime dime wanted to do something insaine anyway eventualy a couple dudes came down in that area and souted scott! darrell! there yall are bus is ready to roll lets go. it took the collective abilities of all 4 of us to get up and walk up the ramp and out of the venue. almost the whole stage set up was broke down and loaded up it had to be close to 5 am and dime still held that banner. we made it to the bus and they got on banner in tow and probably the coolest and best part of the evening happened next. couple of the roadies or crew or what have you ushered us around the side of the bus and pointed over to a cab and said yall aint driving scott called for yall a cab and we get major deals on hotel rooms so you got a room a block away from here its cheep nothing fancy just for the nite just to crash and its a block away and you can get your car in the morning. that to me really ment more than anything else that happened that whole day. thats just the type of dudes they were. everyshow after that if dime spotted me down in the pit his eyes would light up and he would point and throw out some picks and if it phil was talking he would would see what was up and he told me he got the banner hung up and it looks great and he never forgot my name. lol man i miss these guys. but if you have video of that show that would be great. i do have around 7 rolls of film that i got developed from that nite out of desposable cameras but none of the banner on stage. thats all i am missing. i got pics of dime taking picks of me and he went thru 1 or 2 disposable cameras as well. i would love to see those but thats impossible. I have spoke with bobby tongs in recent years and while he recalls the show and the banner and did all the video stuff like that no video of that show turned up. its not in his list of known concerts filmed but he did say that doesnt mean one doesnt exsist he just has not digitized and cataloged it and he only has several hundred of those to still sort out and identify but he told me he would make a note and took down my contact info if it turns up and he wouldnt forget because he remberers how dime went nuts over the banner. my girlfriend actually became friends on myspace with dimes ol lady rita around 2006 or 2007 because by then i was playing in a band and we were gaining traction and had just finished that year with 95 shows that year alone and were gearing up for a 3 month mini tour and she wanted advice on how to cope with all the insainity and being home while i am on the road and worring about other girls and basicaly everything under the sun and they remained friends as far as i know to this day. (that ex is one i do not talk to anymore for Reasons) and I am not going to share the private details rita shared but it seemed at the time the way she worded a lot of things she felt some guilt over what happend to dime and obviously she was still hurting a great deal and anyway thats not important i hopped on one evening and introduced myself and rita was really easy to talk to and i asked her about the banner and she said Thats you.... you are the fucking banner dude i didnt know if that was good or bad and i said it depends and she asked which one i was and said all four of our names that we had wrote on it and i was like i take it he hung it up and she said hung it up? honey it covered the entire celing in our guest bedroom that was the only place he could put it without having to move a bunch of stuff also only place the whole thing could be seen. so dime did take it home and hang it up and im the banner guy i guess but she did say it has been taken down and stored in the house because it kept coming down and she almost ripped it and not wanting to ruin it she took the steps to preserve it. she did not know of any video of that concert either. please tell me you do. any way sorry to ramble i just had to share my story so you would know how much a video of that concert would mean to me.

Seen this tour in Columbus Ohio. Ozzy didn’t show up. All Hell broke loose. Cars flips. Fires burning. Cops everywhere fence destroyed. Marilyn Mason got booed off the stage. Pelted with objects. Set destroyed

1982 Wuerzburg West Germany Ozzie didn’t show up, Saxon said they will do a 3 hour concert and will do Ozzie and Sabbath songs, all hell broke loose, US Army vs German biker gangs blood bath, I was in US Army we started smashing Germans bikes and beating them in to a pulp, it was hell on earth for 3 hours

Pantera toured their asses off in ‘97. I saw them with Clutch in Salem, OR a few months before this (at least Clutch was supposed to play but there were technical difficulties at the venue so it was just Pantera and Neurosis) and then they went all around the country and played the same venue in Salem *again* in November of ‘97. I gotta say though this is the harshest version of the band. As others have pointed out Phil is just screaming his nuts off.

This was my first ever concert (not this show but tour) I forgot Dimebag was still rather skinny in this era. If I remember correctly, Ozzy came out and did a solo set and then came back and did another with Sabbath. That was cool as hell, he should've done that more often, but it was still the 90's and he wasn't quite 50 yet. My friend broke his leg during Pantera's set and his super protective mom had a meltdown vowing never to let him attend a concert again as long as he was living under her roof.🤣

Broken leg?! A guy behind me a bit had his leg broken! Are you referring to the Minneapolis show at the metrodome?
