@@blunderless I can't help but feel that Dave's voice would be in better shape if he had learned not to strain so much though. He can't sing as high anymore so they play all these songs in a lower key nowadays. It's not uncommon for that to happen to older singers but it's also not necessary for it to happen. I've always thought his vocals are really cool and unique though and he's really good at writing music.

Marty Freedman is definitely one of my favorite guitarists of all time. It just came so naturally for him. It's very difficult reproducing solos from songs live and he did it to near perfection every time.

I've met Marty somewhere around this time and to talk to the guy about guitar was more than my simple mind could comprehend. Dude was born on another level . I'm still stuck in the basement . you would think you was speaking with a rocket scientist

Oh man, this video actually left me in tears. I don't always cry over musicians dying, but I've cried my hardest over Nick more than once. I seriously never got the chance to thank him for helping me through a tough time by being a part of megadeth. As silly as this may sound, Nick was a really big role model to me & a super important person because he was a part of helping me through many dark times in my life. I was there and I still have the VHS with the whole concert. 11 hours long massacre. One the best shows of my life, life that I risked when they started Anarchy in the UK. Nick Menza was an incredible drummer and Marty Friedman has been the best lead guitar after Chris Poland. 60000 metalheads and a bunch of bands that will never come back. Pantera, Testament, Magadeth, Warrant, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden. Probably the last Monsters of Rock that deserved its name.

Look at the unfettered joy on that girl’s face when “Skin O’ My Teeth” is announced at 04:30. That’s what metal used to be about. That jubilance when your favourite song came up. That girl would be taking stupid Instagram selfies today. Her online friends seeing her at that show would be more important to her than the show itself. I miss gigs. Smartphones did more damage to them than COVID ever could.

Holy shit the vein in Marty's forearm 11:55
@microondasletal10 жыл бұрын
***** That's actually a picking thing, the why he has such a huge vein. His picking technique is completely abnormal, and he has to use both hand and forearm to be able to alternate pick, so his veins grow too much due to the force thay have to stand. He's an amazing player, but his right hand technique hurts my eyes (of course, he's much better than me, all said)
@MrBibbityBop10 жыл бұрын
David Gomez de los Santos He mentioned in his Metalhead to Head video with Paul Weinman that it's because he hates muting the strings so by habit he picks like that to avoid contact with them except the pick.
