I like to think of this song as one of a trilogy. 1/ I'm broken - Being at your lowest and feeling hopeless 2/ Mouth for war - Deciding to pick yourself up; beginning to ignore the 'false narratives' and the losers that spread them; and stick two fingers up to all naysayers 3/ A new level - Pushing onwards and feeling stronger by the day

So good. For those of you that weren't "there" when this first came out, Vulgar Display was just unheard of for the times- the sound, riffs, recording quality, drum mix- just colossal. I rode my bike to a record store to buy this and listened to it non-stop. Saw 'em on this tour with Sacred Reich too (if you don't know them- GET the "Independent" album- or just about any of 'em).

It does still sound fresh. But then again, if you listen to any metal, or music, or watch movies, from the early 90s it still holds its own easily today. 30 years from 1992 to 2022 is very different from 1962 to 1992. Despite the advancements in cellular phone technology and the Internet, a lot has plateaued or even declined since the 90s.

LaG WaGoNqC I just slammed my 2 bag shot of dope for the night as I’m reading this, and it’s obviously a ridiculously hard habit. Nonetheless, I think Phil’s junkhead days (96-2000 w Pantera) were badass. I LOVE 92-94 Pantera but would’ve gotten tired of this lyrical and musical formula kind of. I think The Great STK and RTS are insanely good. My opinion, living with and thru an extreme heroin addiction and overdoses can be undeniably soul crushing yet, inspiring and self destructively introspective.

The best metal music has ever been. I will die on that hill. Sabbath was first, Metallica took the torch from them, Pantera took it from Metallica, but who took it from Pantera? Lamb of God? No. No metal band has done it as good or better than Pantera. Anyone who knows metal music, plays metal music, or just has half a brain can deny that.

Indeed it's not repeatable...alot of bands are losing creativity or just not working hard enough...the first time I heard Pantera was on top of the pops in the UK....I was instantly drawn to them and Phil for obvious reasons 🤔.

Dirty hair, raw and unfiltered. I loved those days. Music was so respected then, and left to the guys who could truly channel it. We were all high on it. You don’t realize how much it means til it’s gone.

They have always liked hard rock they just did the glame thing because they thought it was most popular at the Time. When Metallica put out there Master of puppets album that's when they said it did it for them... Van Halen, judist priest and kiss were dimes and Vinnie's main influences just like to Many other bands including Metallica.. but Phil did introduce Slayer to dime that's how dime met Kerry.
