Thanks for the positive feedback Merchie! Since you subscribed, let me officially welcome you to the Pan TheOrganizer family. My channel is currently one of the biggest car detailing channels on KZbin, with almost 200,000 subscribers and 20 million views. All that in under 3 years since I started my first video in late April 2016. :) I have been detailing cars for over 21 years and wanted to share my passion and knowledge with my viewers. I mainly do high end new car details, but my viewers once asked me to do an older car so they can see the process. You can watch me detail a 12 year old Toyota Corolla that had never been detailed in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bavUoKl6qZyBf7c And to get you started on awesome videos, here are a few full car details you should watch: My own brand new 2018 BMW M550i: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mqSmnn2AebVmrtE Black BMW M3: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hZu0kql_es6Koq8 Audi RS3: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bGWUnnSAm7B3gq8 And you'll find hundreds of detailing tutorials, including my popular tutorial on how to apply ceramic coatings here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mKqulIypet6Kfc0

Pan, thanks for the great videos! Couple of questions. 1. How do you know when the coating is starting to wear down and needs to be replaced? 2. What steps do you take to remove the coating when it is time to refresh? 3. As the wiper blades wear, is there a need to reapply to ensure non-chatter? Assuming if you replace your wipers annually, you would apply the coating on the new set?
@PanTheOrganizer5 жыл бұрын
Hi Paul. Thanks for the kind words about my videos. Here are my answers to your questions: 1. It depends on your consitions and mileage. 6 months to a year seems reasonable. 2. Same way as in this video. 3. Yes you should apply a bit of coating on new blades.

At the end of the video you mention using this technique on boats and airplanes. Boats and airplanes tend to have plexiglass rather than glass windshields. Plexiglass is much more prone to scratching, very sensitive to the heat generated during polishing, and is damaged by chemicals like IPA. Perhaps you could do a video on polishing and protecting plexiglass windshields.

Gtechniq, Carpro and Gyeon are my favorite. I can advise all users to invest in polishing machine like Rupers or Lare. They will pay off and will give you an option to carry out all sort of works around your car always in 100%. Manual polishing is too much unpredictable and will not give you so good results so if you do it every let say 1.5y better to do it in best way with best results! Cheers from Poland!

Hey Pan, Thanks for making all this great content! I'm always glad to see when you put up a new video. Could you do a follow-up video at 6, 12 and 18 months just to show how the product you've applied has been holding up? I tried a previous suggestion from another KZbinr to use a product I already had in my car cleaning bucket. I don't think that option held up very long, probably a few months at best. It was probably a reasonable time and effort to performance ratio, but I'm curious if doing something like your video here will yield better long term results for time, effort and cost. Also curious to see how a hydrophobic ceramic coating holds up to Canadian salted roads during winter. =)

@jaromor88084 жыл бұрын
a friend of mine (not a professional) said he tried nano/ceramic coating on the windscreen but said it compromised the windscreen washer function... in other words, when you actually want the water to stick till you wipe the windscreen the (de facto hydrophobic) coating results in you wiping a "dry" glass
@jpalmer30894 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much for all the information and time invested sir. It does appear that with a "new 2019" formula, the coating process had changed a bit. Even though the directions on CarPro's website still mirror exactly what you did. But the box had a notation on the outside and a card on the inside stating that due to a new formula only 1 coat was necessary if you polish the glass.

@PanTheOrganizer Жыл бұрын
Many people use an IPA solution to clean glass, jury's still out on the appropriate dilution though. 10-15% IPA is a good starting point. Test on an inconspicuous area first if you're cleaning interior glass with tinted film. Most good glass cleaners are already alcohol based, so it takes the guesswork out of having to get the dilution right. I use commercially available quality automotive glass cleaners myself.

@@PanTheOrganizer honestly tho I see some of your videos over and over again. I will ask a personal favor..... I’m barely starting and much of my questions I ask to several people is about the overwhelming amount of chemicals out there to do the same job.... So maybe because of your wide knowledge is if you can make a video tackling this issue for newcomers like myself. Maybe you already have if you have please share the link with me. Oh and by the way I have driven through Canada 8 times from California to Alaska. British Columbia and Yukon are beautiful

In your case you have so much knowledge that I think you can help for someone like me to build a detailing arsenal of products and than expanding as we gain experience to other brands like the ones you review. I have so hard time explaining myself I hope I was clear this time 🙏🏻

Hi Pan before you start polishing glass you should clay bar it and use a razor blade on it using window cleaner as lube for both of them to clean the glass 100% before polishing it to not fill the pad with dirt and to get best bonding of the glass coating ofc all this is after cleaning the windows normaly also i tested Flyby Forte and it does not last much more than 1 year and Carpro even writes on the package of flyby forte that it will last 6-12 months maybe a little more but no way it lasts 2 years unless you add alot more layers of coating than they recomend
@PanTheOrganizer5 жыл бұрын
Yes that's a great method. Larry from AMMO NYC showed that in one of his glass tutorials.

Great content. I followed this tutorial perfectly with great results. Glass is cleaner than I’ve ever had. All is good during the day but at night, the rain is beading off but my new wiper blades clean off the rain but there is a haze that is remaining for a second after the wiper passes that reflects oncoming headlights. Brutal and worse than reflection off sheeting water. It seems like the product is doing what you said but wondering if you have experienced the ultra clean and ceramic coated glass but reflective haze after the wiper passes. Hoping you can comment before I mechanically remove to get back to a safe condition or make an adjustment. Thanks!

I never had such issues. What specific glass coating did you apply? Also, make sure you degrease and clean the interior of your windshield to reduce glare and a film like appearance. Hi Pan, great video as always! I have two questions:- 1. How do I safely remove hard watermarks or spots on the side mirror? I am not sure if cerium oxide is the best option and I fear that it might damage the color of the coating or something. 2. After a snow wash (including washing the windshield using the snow wash shampoo), do I still need to use an ammonia free glass cleaner to clean the windshield? Thanks in advance.

Pan, THANK YOU SO MUCH. I have been looking for a howto to remove fine scratches from glass for weeks. During a recent maintenance wash I somehow managed to put a couple of super fine 1 inch scratches in my glass. You can't catch them with your nail and are only visible at night with oncoming traffic headlights. They are right in my line of sight and are driving me nuts. I really hope ceriglass and a glass polishing pad will remove them. I will report back when I get the kit and let people know if the ceriglass was able to remove the scratches. Thanks Again.

Just an update, finally got to try this today. Unfortunately it was not able to complete remove the scratches in my windshield. It did seem to "knock them down" a little, so the glare is not as bad as it was. Might try again when the weather gets nice.

My pleasure. I’m pretty much the only big detailing channel over 870,000 subscribers that still replies to KZbin comments personally, every day as you can see. I spend up to four hours each day just replying to comments. It does get overwhelming at times as I receive thousands of messages and emails daily, but I try to stay close to my audience as much as possible. 👍🏻

Great Video, Pan! I got two questions: 1) Can I apply the CarPro FlyBy Forte or G1 on the headlight/taillight covers as well? 2) Can I use CarPro Reload silica spray sealant for the regular maintenance (as you suggested on ceramic coated cars) on ceramic coated glass as well?
@danwilliams6675 жыл бұрын
Yes, glass is very hard as you mentioned but, let's not forget that modern windshields are laminated with a clear film on both sides. So, we're not really polishing the glass, we are polishing the laminate.
@platinumautoglasswindowtin885 жыл бұрын
Hi Dan. Actually you are polishing glass. The clear plastic film is sandwiched(laminated) between to sheets of glass.

Hi there! I will try polishing my glass this weekend. Just couple of questions:1. What speed with polisher? As normal?-spread low and higher polishing? 2. Can I use not eraser-diluted IPA follow your instructions from car polishing? (if I remember that was 12%) 3. Can I use for last layer ceramic wax? (reason for that is not whole car is prepared yet) 4. clay bar or not? Tom
@richeyrich2203Ай бұрын
Maybe you figured it out.. but yes, clay bar after cleaning and before polishing. Use a medium cut compound then a fine polishing compound. Use medium to high speed on the DA. You can do ceramic separate from the body, but remember to be careful with chemicals around it when you’re cleaning the body.
@richeyrich2203Ай бұрын
Yes clay bar. Before polish. Medium to high speed. Can do glass separate from body, just be careful about getting chemicals on it after it cures.

Most general aviation aircraft use lexan or plexiglass for windows due to the weight of regular glass. Therefore, other ceramic coatings may be better suited for aviation applications.

Thanks for this great video. And here comes my questions again 😀. 1. Is there any cure time needed between each layer for windshield as we should put 3 layers on it? 2. How to maintain it in future wash? Thanks for your help. Let’s keep it tight and clean💪
@garretrocha84 жыл бұрын
Make sure you apply the second coat between 30 minutes of applying the previous coat. Only 2 layers is needed without glass polishing, 1 with glass polishing. For maintaining, I’m not sure. Clean regularly.
