I'm so sad because the series is ending, the only reason I'm still playing this game is because I really like it and because I don't have a PC or a console to play the new versions of the game. much respect headhunter, your guides helped me a lot. you are the best!

Well, I'll likely still cover some quests and other aspects that I haven't been able to cover yet, but either way I'll be moving on to P3rd and the other games eventually :P I can always stream MHFU here and there as well just for fun. Thanks for watching, I appreciate your support, and good job! Keep it up! 😄

I would suggest Portable 3rd since it's quite a bit more polished. The only real knock is it lacks a G Rank. Still, I consider it far more well rounded than 3U for doing away with swimming.

as someone who has been using Lance since 3U, it feels so weird looking back at the older games. Just how much this thing moving slightly trips you, guard pokes being genuinely useful, Tigrex being a nightmare instead of just reasonably tough. Very interesting view into the past.
@HeadHunter4552 жыл бұрын
lmao yeah, pretty much, I'm glad! I want to make these videos for a few reasons, one of which is to act as a glimpse into the past for people who've never played MHFU, to go in depth and explain what's going on moreso than just "Remember 2nd gen Tigrex??" but never explaining anything and just show me hunting it and not having any trouble with it, as much as I think Peppo is cool, lol. I think moving forward, Tigrex is just a much better and more balanced fight, more fun, which is the important part. Thanks for watching! 🙂

As a lance main in this game, Tigrex was one of the monsters that most headatches gave me. His attacks drain a lot of stamina to block, so the megajuice is almots a necessity in its matchup. And even with it, blocking its attacks won't give you a good opening either because they are either fast with lots of blockstun of move the trigrex too far frok you so you can barely reach it before it starts attacking again. I really thought Lance x Tigrex was an imposible matchup, thank you for proving me wrong.
@HeadHunter4552 жыл бұрын
Yeah, for super aggressive monsters I find lance actually really good, but it really kinda relies on the usage of power/mega juice tbh. I'm really glad I could inspire you to maybe give this a shot! :D I think that lance vs Tigrex in G-Rank is a great match up and will probably be my go to, honestly, but straight up, I've been sleeping on the guard poke for years lmao, maybe just because I'm not a lance main :P Go get 'em! 😄 Thanks for watching 🙂

This just reminded me that i've started playing FU and stopped at village Tigrex...half a year ago xD I've been delaying it since no matter with what weapon i try (LS,SnS) he always triple carts me. Earlier this year i finally realized why so many players called him "The Wall". Funny thing tho,in Portable 3rd i shitstomp him with (almost) no effort.
@HeadHunter4552 жыл бұрын
tbh, I think Tigrex(?) in most of his appearances AFTER MHFU are actually pretty good. People love to say that they "nerfed" him after MHFU, but the reality is they just made him a good and fun fight in the later games, that's all lol
@UFOToaster2 жыл бұрын
I agree that his newer versions are a step up from his Freedom Unite version,but by personal taste he is still unfun and frustrating to fight. Basically,Tigrex does charges and dumass spins and some variations in between,i personally don't like him at all.

Ah, Tigrex... I tend to compare this fight to trying to bullfight a bus. It looks simple on the surface, but the sheer brutality of the beast makes mistakes very costly, Likely HG earplugs would go a long way in providing free hits since it loves to hear itself roar, sure does. Being a gunlance secondary, most of these tips will prove pretty useful, so thank you.
@HeadHunter4552 жыл бұрын
I think with HGE you'll still be hit by the damage part his roar? I'm not sure off the top of my head, but that sounds right. Using HGE against Tigrex allows you to be a little closer than normal, but his roar is pretty short range compared to others like the blos', still pretty helpful but I don't think it's a huge gamechanger, not as much as, honestly, using Lance is lol, IMO Good luck! I think using lance is a pretty chill time, it's just a shame that everything else kinda feels awful.

I never used this weap before what does guard do? Can you guard against all his attacks?Like you seriously you just stand in front of him all the time, I have to run around all the time :/
@HeadHunter455 Жыл бұрын
lol yeah, using Lance can make this fight a lot more simple, it's what I recommend, and since I found out how effective it is like this, it's my go to in this game tbh. Guard, the armor skill, reduces the amount of health and/or stamina damage you take, as well as recoil from those attacks. In our case, Guard+1 will remove the chip damage from his roar, which is really nice, but not 100% necessary.

@sebastianmiklosevic12492 жыл бұрын
This game is pain if you don't play with other players given that guild quests monsters have 4 player difficulty HP. Hitboxes and animation cancels dont help either, but the worst of all is the attack logic in the game. You are next to the monster and it makes an instant charge attack and runs to the other side of the map or you are one one side of the map the monster is on the other and it does tail swipes or paw attack against air. I get the nostalgic love for the game but objectivly speaking the game isn't that good as some "veteran" players make it. I would even recommend new players to start from gen3 and go down.
@HeadHunter4552 жыл бұрын
Yeah, the RNG involved in the monster behaviors is frustrating sometimes. It's also hilarious that veterans are INSISTING that Tigrex either NEVER charges when you're in front of his head or that it's just very rare. Like, I'll give them that it's more/less likely for Tigrex to charge when you're farther away/closer to him, but to say that as long as you're in front of his head he'll never charge is not only bad advice, it's objectively wrong. It's hilarious that these veterans are saying otherwise, considering they supposedly play the game so much. The fact that it's an insta-charge with awful hitboxes makes an otherwise frustrating design into a downright bad one in my opinion. One thing though the monsters aren't technically scaled for 4 players so much as 2, taking low rank as an example, though the HP values can vary, unfortunately, Tigrex in the village has ~2,400 HP, including the defense modifier, in the guild hall equivalent quest he has ~5,052 including the 95% defense mod. I get what you mean of course, but if the game was scaled for 4 players, it'd legit just be too much effort for what it's worth, and funnily enough since the game is only "really" balanced for ~2 players, when you have 4 players, it kinda makes the fights way easier, which isn't a bad thing, but is interesting I guess. It's just a shame that if you're having trouble, if you're alone, you have no way out :( that's part of an inspiration for these videos and why I always play solo, and without cats, kinda lol I'd be very interested to hear directly from the developers/designers what their thought process was for progression, for difficulty, for wtf you're supposed to do against G-Rank Tigrex, you know? Because just looking at the game I can't tell at all :/

Can you please tell me how do you get that lance? 🙏
@HeadHunter4552 жыл бұрын
Yeah np! It's called Gravedigger, 644 ATP (280 raw), white sharpness, O-- slot monsterhunter.fandom.com/wiki/Gravedigger You can craft the Sanctioned Drill Lance first and upgrade it into Gravedigger: monsterhunter.fandom.com/wiki/Sanctioned_Drill_Lance Or if you want to start from the beginning it's: (Iron Lance) -> Iron Lance+ -> Steel Lance -> (Paladin Lance) -> Rampart -> Growling Wyvern -> Roaring Wyvern -> (Sanctioned Drill Lance) -> Gravedigger The weapons in parenthesis are ones that can be crafted without being upgraded to, it may even be easier to just craft the Sanctioned Drill Lance actually lol. Good luck! I hope you like it, it's a pretty good lance, and easy enough to acquire, it requires rare ores and stuff, but at least you don't have to fight too many tough monsters >.< just a Basarios and Khezu I guess, I have a video on G-Rank Basarios here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aKfPhHmNgpqejrs
