Moses Leota and JFH handled the Paramatta Eels front rowers with ease supprisingly. I was looking forward to this battle but boy was it one sided. Junior Paulo and RCG were really ineffective and pretty much the rest of the forwards, and I feel that dictated the tempo of the game. This enabled Cleary and Luai to run a muck and To'o eating metres like a mad man and Dylan Edwards just cool as ice. Anywho lets go Roosters 2023! Lol

Look at the replays. Eels were being smashed by the defence because they were one dimensional. It's like running into a brick wall, falling back and asking why you fell. They didn't chance their arm to post questions and stretch the defense. They went into their shells (as they did in game one of the finals). They paid the price. Poor coaching.

@@kaneessey3839 definitely wasn't an obstruction. Watch the replay. Kikau contorted his body to avoid Moses and would've run through the line without contact but Moses stuck his arm out to create the contact. Moses could've easily let him continue thru the line and it wouldn't have affected him. He was trying to milk a penalty and that's the way it was ruled. And if you want to talk about high contact, have a look at Reed Mahony's shoulder into Tago's face that busted up his nose. @mitch71062 жыл бұрын
The kick was a tactic. Which can work well. It's used to put the opposition wingers into a panic early on to drop back earlier than usual and then to manipulate the 10 man defensive line. In all honesty it wasn't a bad tactic. They had to try something to rattle Penrith. Believe me the erratic plays early are designed more for the after result than the immediate result. It's designed 95% to make the opposition panic and go away from there defensive structures.

Not taking anything away from Edwards' performance though and as good as the try saving tackle was, it wasn't better than the Sattler tackle in 2003 GF. Think about it like this, 2003 GF - game was still on the line and the fact that a lock forward was able to chase down a winger made it more impressive. 2022 GF - Panthers already had the game won and fullbacks are essentially the last line of defence and Edwards did what was needed. Good but not iconic.

So no team since 1983 has been a great team? Stupid comment. The comp is way more competitive than 40 years ago, which is why winning it even twice is so hard to do. Back in the era you're talking about there was no salary cap, so it was normal for teams to win multiple titles. St George won it 11 years in a row from 1956-66, then 7 teams won it back to back in the next 16 years before Parra's three wins.
