The Smith, Cronk, Slater combo was the greatest ever. Smith was like a 7 playing at 9. He controlled things that the 7 usually would which takes pressure off the 7. Also having a good kicking hooker or centre frees up the 5/8.

When Cleary gets some origin wins and some Kangaroos wins under his belt, then come speak to me. Right now Laurie Daley has a better record being a Captain of NSW and Kangaroos. He also I think has three grand final wins if I'm not mistaken. Cleary might yet become the greatest but he certainly has a long way to go yet.
