Pantoja's got a crazy chin. Erceg's the cleaner striker but he's no KO artist, his KO of Schnell was his only KO win in the UFC (2nd in his career). Also, Schnell was KOd 3 months prior to that fight. If anyone's gonna win by KO high chance it might be Pantoja (who actually has power). Erceg maybe cleaner but he does get hit, he even got hit pretty bad in the Schnell fight. And we all know who'd probably win by sub Erceg's path to victory will likely be to outsruck Pantoja or land an unlikely KO shot, either way this seems like an awful mismatch imo....but nothing's impossible that's why we love this sport.

Tbh I love Steve and Pantoja but to be as sure as you for a guy with 3 fights in the UFC but making arguments like "His only KO in the UFC" is insane. He debuted on 8 days notice Vs a number 10 fight who was on a 16 fight win streak. Then KO'd the number 9 after a meh fight inbetween them. But when you debut in the top ten let's see how good your record for KO's is gonna be. If this has been Erceg after 3 fights in the UFC Vs ranked fighters. He might not win this fight but he sure has hell hasn't shown his ceiling yet. Aussies are undefeated in first title shots. And I wouldn't be surprised if by next year both Erceg and JDM hold belts. I am not even saying he will win. But more pointing out how many flaws there are in picking either way on this one. But myself. I've learned not to bet against underdog Aussies in a debut title fight

Also Erceg has great counter wrestling BJJ and some mean subs on the ground. We have only really seen his Gilly in UFC but he hasn't really spent enough time on hie back. And when he did it was after rocking the guy and putting a standing gilly then he jumped guard to secure it. So he only ended up on his back cause he jumped the gilly. So yeah your opinion discounts way to much and just shows how little you know about Steve's skillset. He didn't earn this shot. But if he loses it's because Pantoja was better. Nothing else. ANYONE in his division is a killer in every position. Mighty knows exactly how well rounded 125-145 is

And I hope he fights more patiently than the 3 rounders IN the UFC cause IMO Pantoja gonna wade the stormy waters or try to wrestle early(first one is smarter cause Erceg has some good counter BJJ and wrestling like all Aussies) then bring it home past 3 when the speed advantage isnt as big because steve is tired(which he does get when he hunts the KO early) It's actually a better match up than people think. It's just if Steve rises to the occasion imo
