Panzer I replica at Tiger Day.Bovington Tank Museum 22 April 2023.

If you watch the video carefully, you will notice that the Panzer I replica has an automatic gearbox, of course it is not original. Such things are of course acceptable when building a replica and there is nothing unusual about it.
You can't see it in the video, but the engine that powered replica Panzer I is a Mercedes- Benz gasoline engine.

What impresses me the most is the running gear. That big bar attached to the wheels is what truly marks a Pzkw I.

Those sorts of tanks were sent to Spain to help General Franco troops during the Spanish Civil War. As far as I know the were named " NEGRILLOS " by the Spanish tank crew. " NEGRILLOS " mean: SMALL BLACK ONES, due to their size and originally dark colour.

It looks rather empty now, but with a full crew and holding ammunition and personal protection weapons, it would be a tight fit for everyone.

It looks empty because it doesn't have the radio rack, the commander's chair, the ammunition bins, the water bottle and gas mask storage, the manual gearbox, the antenna spring, the electrical link to the turret, and probably a lot of other things that I can't even check because this videographer never peered upwards into the turret.

@@daveybyrden3936 - Yes, but mostly it lacks its two man crew. As photos show, a Pzkw I is shorter than most men. It's remarkable that more than 1000 of them served in panzerdivisionen during Case Yellow.

Useless in WW2 but would have been a devastating bit of kit in WW1
