Great surprise. Glad EE was not driving, the sudden stop and 180 turn could give you whiplash. All the bunkers were in great condition for their age. The dome was an incredible find. I wonder if there was a secondary cover that the locals took. What was broke off was still shiny unless it was the welds that were broken. Panzer steel was welded with stainless steel rods. It smaller so that would go in your back yard, :) , This was a great find and in great condition hoping it stays that way for the future. Nice job gentlemen. Stay safe and well out there.

Talk about Eagle Eyes being an appropriate nickname! What an amazing find. First the cave, that probably thousands have driven past without a second thought, and then the pointing out the "bunkers' at the top of the hill, and then, incredibly, spotting that observation dome, amongst all the bushes and trees. Just wow. Well done Eagle Eyes! And those bunkers, with almost new white paint, and only the fittings gone. Just stunning. Love those "serendipity" moments. Many thanks for bringing this amazing adventure to us. Great work! Cheers to you all! Stay Safe!

Your comment about the young one spotting the cave reminds me of a time that I did that. I was driving down a freeway with some friends, talking and as I turned my head slightly for the conversation I spotted something off in the distance that looked out of place. We turned around and, with the help of a spotlight I had with the vehicle, we explored a cave that I doubt has had many visitors.

The 502 Regelbau bunker and Panzer done were very special indeed. Your sneeze was explosive HH. You had to have felt that one. Unplanned trips or spontaneity are often the best kind of adventures.
